Guest guest
I feel better when I avoid aspartame. However, I eliminated it at the same time that I cut out things with MSG and other additives, so it's hard to tell which is making the difference. Around that same time, I also began drinking more water (filtered) and greatly reduced white flour and sugar. And then one has to consider the impact of not drinking soft drinks whether they are made with sugar or artificial sweeteners. Besides additives, they contain lots of phosphates, which some reearchers think are a problem for people with FMS/CFS.

The biggest difference was in my kids, they were more calmer, and they didn't have sweet cravings as much. Their attention span improved about 60%. As for me, I don't have as many hives and headaches. I use to consume a lot of diet pop, it was my vice in life & the hardest thing to give up. Too bad so many products contain aspartame. Guest guest
Hi All, Has anybody noticed any relief from stopping aspartame? I did drink diet pop for many years, then quit all aspartame as well as caffeine about a year and a half ago. I haven't noticed a change in any of my symptoms at all. Just wondering if anybody else has??? Guest guest
I don't have the article. I live in Saudi Arabia and it was in our local paper. However, I believe the original article was in the Wall Street Journal if that's any help. This is not the first article I've read on this subject and there's lots of information on the internet. Guest guest
I have recently been asked by several people who know of my chronic leg inflamation problems whether or not I drink a lot of diet soda. YES I do! And, I chew a bunch of sugar-free gum and eat diet jello and on and on. I found that my diet was full of aspartame. There do seem to be testimonials on the web from people with " lupus-like " symptoms who claim it was from aspartmae poisioning. I stopped eating or drinking anything that contains it about three weeks ago. They say it may take up to three months to get this stuff out of your system!!?? I figure it it worth a try. Anybody out there have any experience with this? Ruth
