Guest guest
Christy, Apparently my PG was caused because I have ulcerative colitis. So 'any' skin injury' can cause sores. Well my skin injury happened to be 'flea bites'.One thing let to another. Sandy
Guest guest
christy, " i don't return to the dermatologist out of embarrassment. " why is that? whats embarrassing? i don't know when you were first dx'ed, but immunomodulators and biological treatments have come light years in the last 10 years. So has wound care. pg is thought to be an autoimmune disease. about 1/2 the time associated with other disease such as CD, UC and some other forms of cancer and so forth (rebecca has a list of them on this site). stress related? doubt it. jeff, pg, cd > > Sandy or anyone else familiar with or that has PG, > I don't post much because I don't have EN and I have some other health problems, but I perk up whenever I see something on here about PG. I've been diagnosed with it for several years now, but it's better than it was, and I didn't return to the dermatologist out of embarrassment. I wonder if treatments have come along further than when I was first diagnosed? I wanted to know if you knew how you got the PG, or when it reared its ugly head. Is stress a component, because I have tons of that or is it something I was exposed to? Where exactly does it come from and do any of you have scars from it like I do? For me, it's a real self-esteem killer which only makes other things worse emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. > I hope I wasn't too nosey with my questions. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, truly. > Sincerely, > Christy in NC :-) >
Guest guest
yes, any injury, no matter how slight, causes pathergy in pg. some people are more sensitive to this than others. lower legs are the most common place for this to occur, however, it can occur anywhere on the body, including inside your mouth, nose, ears and even internal organs (i can't imagine going through that, after seeing what it looks like on the skin!!!). jeff, pg, cd > > Christy, > Apparently my PG was caused because I have ulcerative colitis.
