Guest guest
, I can relate to these data. When I am really upset, facts and logic make me feel more secure. My sense of logic does not crash when I am upset, but there are times when my people skills have crashed. If I even make a card to show to someone to disclose that I am AS, for the purpose of using it in a crisis, remind me to put on it that when I am upset, please use logic and higher-level thought, and do not "keep it simple" and use emotional reassurance. I may be practiced enough to get the emotional reassurance and deduce logically that I should take comfort from it, but a bit of logic is automatic with me. When I am relaxed, or even quite stressed but still not at extreme fatigue stage, then feelings are fine, and appreciated. If I ever melt down, use logic first. , definitely AS wrote: Endless numbers of research studies/metastudies have shown conclusively that men are more likely to reason with logic moreso than women. Women are more likely to reason with emotions moreso than men. Men's brains are wired differently than women's brains, much like a NT's brain is wired differently than someone who has AS. If I knew "my partner" was upset and such, I'd probably see that. I know the difference between when someone's upset, has their arms crossed in a defensive posture, isn't smiling and someone who is happy and content. I think one of the biggest issues for people with AS is the inability to understand nonverbals. Perhaps that is why people with AS are more likely to respond better to logic than the use of emotions and non-verbals.--- . Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile.
