Guest guest
Metropolitan Jewish Hospice is seeking a full-time music therapist for the newly expanding team in Nassau and Queens Counties. This music therapy department has seen a lot of changes in the last several years, but we’re stabilizing now and really looking to grow. We currently have two other full-time music therapists, a per diem music therapist, and music therapy interns, as well as a supportive administration. The position we’re hiring for requires a car for sessions in patient homes as well as care centers in Nassau and Queens. Most sessions will be individual or family sessions, but there are opportunities to do group work in bereavement if interested. The nurses, social workers, and medical doctors for this team are extremely enthusiastic about music therapy and eager to make ongoing, clinically relevant referrals. The Nassau/Queens music therapist would also have to travel to Brooklyn once a week for the music therapy department meeting. We’d like to hire an LCAT-licensed or license-eligible therapist, preferably with some experience in hospice or medical settings, who is interested in eventually supervising interns. To submit your resume or with any questions, contact Meghan Hinman, music therapy coordinator. mhinman@...,
