Guest guest
Hi everyone.... I have chosen to recommit to posting more on Aspires, seeing how much it has helped me since last year. I have been contemplating for a while now which groups to keep and which ones to delete. I continue to go to therapy and receive the help and assistance I need. I am still in no rush to be involved with anyone. I recommend very highly to everyone to be proactive as possibly in getting help to adjust in having AS or someone you know who has AS. I can not even begin to begin saying how grateful I am that I have gotten the help and assistance I have needed with AS and ADHD. By now, I have accepted and loved myself fully for having AS and ADHD. I find that penpal writing, knitting, meeting new people, learning German, and working keep my busy. Recently at work, my supervisor has developed much confidence in my abilities with understanding estimating work in construction (reading of blueprints, project management, and estimating costs of metals and wood products. My greatest challenge I face currently involves contractors who want their stuff now and the increasing incompetence of people who have no idea what they're doing. I don't have much tolerance for incompetence, although I am very patient in teaching and educating others. People are lazier than ever in our society, and I don't enjoy being around lazy people who expect others to do things for them. It's one thing to have AS or anything along those lines. But, totally another when someone has the ability to do something, and others have to take control of a situation due to laziness. I am going to two-related trainings - one in Atlanta in mid-April and one in Iowa at the end of April. I love to travel and leave town when possible, even on a moment's notice. It'll be good to get away from Chattanooga for a good amount of time in April. It'll be like a vacation to me. Activities such as writing and knitting continue to help me with slowing down and being consistent in doing things well. Meeting new people helps me with extending my boundaries, as well as enjoying my hobbies and interests. It's getting warmer out here, so I will have opportunties to meet that many more people locally. I don't anticipate that I'll be in this part of the United States after the next 3-5 years, as I wish to be in the Pacific Northwest region of the USA. It's an area of the country I feel I would be the most comfortable living. Progressively liberal, especially with concerns about the environment (among other things), and I could be more involved on the Green/recycling things of the construction industry. Recently, I began writing sustainability articles in my congregation's newsletter, and my views are more vegetarian and Green. Hope everyone is making the best of his/her situation,
