Guest guest
, I'm recently recovered from my first bout with EN. I don't understand anything about what other symptoms you're having or how serious they are, but, I breastfed both my children until they were each 2 years old. I just wanted to validate your point about not wanting to willy nilly jump into some treatment regimen which would require you to give up breastfeeding prematurely. Doctors never take breastfeeding too seriously. Be careful about that. You might want to call LaLeche League for more information. Guest guest
Thank you for welcoming me to your group. I have had my first incidence of EN since 2nd June 2008, at the same time I developed the lesions on my legs I also developed a raised rash on my torso. I am having new lesions develop on my legs daily - I guess it due to not resting enough but this isn't easy when you work full time and have children! I had my 1st dermatology appointment today, and EN was confirmed, but also the consultant confirmed that the rash on my torsa is Urticuria Pigmentosa. I have had a punch biopsy and have been referred for further blood tests, chest X-ray, endoscopy and I'm not sure what else. I have been given steroid cream and paste bandages for the lesions. The consultant was not too forthcoming with a prognosis & said I would hav to wait for all the test result, but instructed me to stop breastfeeding my youngest (who is 10 months) as I would have to prepare myself for treatment, which I would be able to have if I was breastfeeding. I got no clarification or further information as the consultatnt would not commit to a diagnosis without the test results (i'm presuming for fear of litigation?). Sorry for the novel, but I can't help being more than a little concerned. Does anyone else have similar problems or can anyone give me any advice? I really do not want to Google anything as I'm sure I will just work myself into a blind panic! Thanks, x
Guest guest
, Thankyou for your support. I to believe that the medical profession do not encourage or support breastfeeding enough. My own GP insisted I give up breastfeeding my eldest daughter when I fell pregnant with the youngest saying I was depriving the unborn daughter!! I will speak to my health visitor tomorrow - who is a breastfeeding councellor - and get her advice. x > > , > > I'm recently recovered from my first bout with EN.
