Went to my doc today....expecting to get diagnosed

with fibro....especially since my dad has it. I've

got all the signs and symptoms, etc. etc. I'm sure you

know the drill. I'd like to get some feedback on what

I was told. First she told me that from what I was

telling her that it sounded like depression but that

she wanted to do some blood work to rule out anything

else. She prescribed Naproxen for the pain in my

hands, neck and back and wants me to come back in a

week to review the bloodwork and decide where to go

from there. She said that if nothing showed up in the

bloodwork that it was probably depression and she

would prescribe me something for that next week if the

bloodwork was OK...she then gave me this info sheet on

depression that I did have a lot of the symptoms that

it listed....but those are symptoms of fibro as

well...so I'm confused.

The impression that I got from her was that she wasn't

even considering fibro as a possibility. Should I go

to another doctor for a second opinion or just go with

what she's saying for now?? I think I probably would

have been put on an anti-depressant even if it is

fibro so I'm not sure how to feel about all of this.

Feedback please. Thanks.
