Guest guest
Hi all, My first post here. I am just beginning to go through the Get Out of Your Mind, it makes a lot of sense. For me, it's a tie now between ACT and EMDR as my next direction: both are clinically-proven, and both take relatively few sessions.. the only problem, they contradict each other! The way I see it... EMDR's premise is, there is unprocessed stuff stuck in our brain that is yearning to be processed, and it offers a know-how as to how to do it fairly easily... sounds tempting. ACT says, forget about trying to process stuff, let it hurt, you can live with that, move on. Either is fine with me, but how can two clinically proven theories come from such diametrally opposite premises? Thanks!
