This was a VERY interesting story! I passed it to many of my

friends.......

I hope you don't mind.

I have HNPP a very rare neuropathy.....

I also have fibromyalgia, along with many other things.

I am 51......now live alone in an apt. with my little dog........I just

moved out of the mountains into the valley....and I am really suffering

with allergies and asthma...

BAD asthma....and I am on lots of medication......but I also take

vitamins and minerals.....

If there is anyone else who lives in Northern California I would like to

talk with you......

Sincerely,

As people will know, I try not to " intrude " into the

list, as a therapist (from Wanganui, New Zealand),

but, as a person, there are some really great songs

out there. On the ACT website, don't know if it's

available to the general public, but this " thread " has

been mentioned, but not really well explored.

A couple of my favourites are " angel of the morning "

(preferably by the " originals " : Chip and

); and the same couple singing " don't speak

in english " , both full of present moment awareness,

defusion, acceptance, and values work. Rich!

Cheers,

that's a good exercise for me, as I often don't like

(or think I don't like) clarinets in classical music.

Hi everyone

I think that

music is a powerful tool in the ACT/mindfulness

toolkit.  I find that much

music is a real aid to being in the mindful moment;

for instance, try the

adagio from Mozart’s clarinet concerto, or the first

movement of his

clarinet quintet.  Just be with the music – don’t try

to analyse or

understand it, and your mind will have a hard time

trying to get through.

Regards

Kinna

ACT playlist?!

Terrific List. In fact I listen to Pink Floyd's

learning to fly nearly

daily.

tlazzrat Fri Sep 12,

2008 6:28 pm (PDT) One song

I like as sort of an acceptance and willingness piece

is and old standard " Good Morning Heartache " . It's not

motivational. It neither quiets the mind nor soothes.

But it does sort of put song to greeting, having,

struggling, then not struggling...greeting, having,

struggling, then not struggling...

I like the little bit of struggle in there because

struggle happens. By " struggle " I mean trying to push

feelings away or tangle up with thoughts. I listen or

sing sometimes as a way of watching and accepting even

my " I don't want this " thoughts about painful

feelings. It's not perfectly Dalai Lama, but who is?

(Not even DL himself)

A well known recording is by Holiday, although I

think Ella wrote it. Here is if you want to

listen...lyrics below...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ3PVm6YbmU

-Tami

Good morning, Heartache,

you old gloomy sight.

Good morning, Heartache

Thought we said goodbye last night

I turned and tossed until it seems you have gone'

but here you are with the dawn.

Wish I could forget you, but you're here to stay.

It seems I met you

when my love went away.

Now everyday it seems I'm saying to you

'Good morning heartache; what's new?'

Stop haunting me now.

Can't shake you no how.

Just leave me alone.

I've got those Monday blues...

straight to Sunday blues.

Good morning, heartache.

Here we go again.

Good morning, heartache.

You're the one

Who knows me well

Might as well get used to you hanging around.

Good morning, Heartache;

....sit down.
