Guest guest
Hi I'm reading the book and getting to some of the exercises. I am finding it difficult to do the exercises because my obsessions seem to always be present with the associated anxious tension. So all i observe are the fears and tense body, which isn't the purpose of the exercise and just serves to reinforce how rigid my thinking is Any suggestions? Guest guest
If the purpose of the exercise is to observe your thoughts and feelings (and urges and bodily sensations), you're doing a great job. That's the beginning of ACT wisdom, as I understand it. ~L. Guest guest
It tends to work best if you read through the book first without doing the exercises. Then go back through and do the exercises. Don't get hung up on one. If one seems to difficult go on to another, then come back to the more difficult ones. That is how I did it 3 years ago, and I believe that is what Steve is now recommending. Greg PS yes I am one of the old timers on the list. I haven't been around much because I have been out living my life. I am trying to come on the list a little more to help out where I can. > > Hi > > I'm reading the book and getting to some of the exercises.
