Guest guest
I like the book, too, and may go back to it now that I'm on the ACT road. I've worked with Jon Kabat-Zinn materials before, so it feels like "home" to do the meditation CD that accompanies the book. The authors are really well regarded in the area of mindfulness, and that is why im interested in reading it. I am currently going through my 3rd major depressive episode in 10 yrs. But this time, im feeling im getting through it quicker. I dont know if its because of the the meds kicking in, or the fact that I am more accepting of the feelings and thoughts this time, and am taking more of the ACT/mindfulness approach than CBT. Maybe a combination of both. Given the author's recommnedations about waiting until you are through an episode to use the book, i might hold off a couple of months before getting it. I want to finish my other ACT book for now. Thanks for explaining the difference between hardwire and softwire. I didnt know about this. I had always thought that once i have had one episode, and then my second, its pretty much certain i will keep having them the rest of my life. So there's hope to unlearn this behaviour.T.> > > > > > >> > > > > > > Hello there,> > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am also new to this group too! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Are you currently reading any books on ACT?> > > > > > > > > > > > > > Take care,> > > > > > > > > > > > > > Ally> > > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > >> > >> >>
