Guest guest
.. I think the lysine is the one you need lots of, but can't remember for sure, would have to look it up again. Ideally you need to cut out stuff, like all sugar, maybe dairy, I can't remember, to get rid of the problem and prevent it from coming back. Your naturopath should know all about this, ask him! Herpes outbreaks happen to most of us when our immune system isn't working right, often when we are under severe stress. Hormone imbalances count as severe stress! I have always heard about and used Lysine for cold sores or mouth sores. I used to get them in the P phase too. I haven't had any in years now. I think I took 1000mg once or twice a day of lysine when I felt one coming on. It did help a lot I remember. nne
Guest guest
Yes, that sounds right, the 1000 mg. twice a day or once a day. And making a permanent diet of high-lysine foods is the best preventative, along with a the MDR of zinc and a lot of vitamin C. I think I remember that dairy has something in it that makes it worse, I think peanuts do too. I am sure this can all be found in a goodle search online. Tea Tree oil applied topically is helpful when you have an outbreak. So is Shaklee brand toothpaste, don't ask me why, but some people swear by it for that! WEIRD! Guest guest
This may seem corny, but Diane Petoskey says a quick test we can do at home for our iron levels is to pull down our lower eye lid. If it isn't bright pink, we need iron. Anyone who exercises a lot, sweats a lot for any reason as well as bleeds, needs extra iron. That is why athletes always have to take extra.Even when I wasn't having periods, if I went to long with any, I didn't have a certain type of energy. A couple of days of my multi-vitamin version WITH iron instead of the one without iron and I felt like a new person, so I knew I needed the iron. Plus now I am giving blood for these hormone blood tests too! So with having periods again and those tests, I take iron every day again! ---- Original Message ----- From: Madeleen To: rhythmicliving Sent: Thursday, May 11, 2006 5:21 PM Subject: Re: Re: okay where is everyone today? Guest guest
The way I understand it is that blood tests for iron levels show deficiencies if we have any, but they don't necessarily show whether we are getting the ideal amounts of our needs. The eyelid test supposedly help us calibrate to our specific needs. It is not supposed to be used as a substitute for the blood tests, but to complement and enhance them. Especially since we can do the eyelid thing anytime and who wants to take yet another blood draw regularly? Re: Re: okay where is everyone today? Guest guest
I just read in a newsletter by Dr. Nan Fuchs that women who bleed too much are low on iron. Guest guest
Interestingly enough, I stopped taking DHEA a week ago and about 3 days ago, I stopped bleeding. I didn't even need to take those 200 mg suppositories of vaginal P. My doctor thinks that after taking it every day for almost a year now, it possibly converted to E. But I can't figure how I would STILL have hot flashes if it was converting to E. The mystery grows. Now I have to figure out to how to keep the bleeding AWAY! Guest guest
This could be temporary. However, I am now hot flashing like crazy. Maybe that damned DHEA WAS doing it. My doc suggested that I use 5 mg of DHEA but not until after I have stopped bleeding for longer than 3 days. I'll keep you posted! I'm bummed though because the DHEA gave me life again! Lots of energy. > > Wow, , maybe you just found your problem!!!!! > > _____ > > From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ]

Guest guest
, did you go back on the DHEA? Why not stop for a while. Then add more E and see what happens? You could be fluctuating right now coming off the DHEA. Guest guest
Yes you can mess around comfortably with E when you don't have a uterus. And when I did the Wiley protocol for one month and a half, I used the E and YES it was like night and day. NO flashing. I also held my lining until Day 28 -- just like she predicted. Only problem was I blew up like a balloon. My whole body doubled in size after I went through the P phase and then came the horrible pain. I will also swear that the Wiley creams (despite the bad ingredients) were much more potent than other compounding pharmacies. > > Or go up on your E. I know when I started the WP, I was on a patch. Guest guest
Yes, this DHEA thing needs to be studied more. It strikes me odd that we can just purchase it OTC. I also had a problem with herbs . I broke out in hives all over my body when my doctor gave me Vitex to use (chaste tree oil). I was allergic to the berry! I have to be careful with trees! > > Diane Petoskey is good with getting estrogen levels up with nutrition and > supplements and herbs. Guest guest
Most people haven't studied herbs for years, or centuries. And that includes most MDs, unfortunately. \\ > > > > Diane Petoskey is good with getting estrogen levels up with nutrition > and > > supplements and herbs.
