Guest guest
rhonda, always feel free to ask quesitons or make comments, we are all here and you may get many different responses but then that just makes us all understand the lbd is different with everyone and changes in a blink of an eye. my dad slept alot, he was alway sa home body since he did so much traveling in the navy, but the more the lbd progressed in length of him having it, not necessarily in progression of the disease, he would sleep more and more, and be a fixture in his bed. he would not want ot get up to shower, walk out to his fish pond and garden nothing. my dad slept even on exelon which was really good for him for a while, i will give you one word of caution as my dad slept and stayed more and more in the reclining position is when he went from high blood pressure to orthostatic which means the blood pressure drops dramatically while changing postions, for ex laying to sitting, sitting to standing, and then walking and htat is when our loved ones have a higher danger of falling as they get lightheaded or dizzy as their blood pressure drop. hugs sharon m ---- Rhonda wrote: Hello, It has been a few months since I have posted a message, but I love that I can come here and post a question or concern and have a multitude of answers and advice! Thank you so much! My dad was diagnosed with LBD 3 years ago at the age of 67. He is taking Namenda, Exelon and Seroquel. What really concerns me is the fact that he sleeps alot. I'm not sure if it's the progression of LB or depression. Up until the past few months he still liked to go out to dinner and different events, but now he just wants to stay home and lay on the couch. Does your LO take an antidepressant? And how did it effect their everyday quality of living? Thank you again for all your great advice! Rhonda -- Daugher of Leonard, diag May 2004, had lbd since 1993, had hip surgery from fall 7/05, aspiration pneumonia 7/05 with pulmonary embolyis, had aspiration pneumonia and uti 8/05, died of blood pressure drop on 9/25/05, may he rest in peace with his mom and dad, a smile a day keeps the meanies away
