Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Oh - well it is also used to hold our linings -- my pregnant friend is getting P shots to hold her pregnancy. It's all so confusing. What confusing bodies women have! > > > > > > The " standard " dose of P is 100 mg/day orally, but certainly not > > vaginally. > > > > > > Val > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: > > > > > > > > > > > > That's when they tell > > > me that the " standard " dosing of P is 100 or 200 mg a day! Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 doesn't sustaining the pregnancy equate to " holding the lining " ? > > > > > > > > The " standard " dose of P is 100 mg/day orally, but certainly > not > > > vaginally. > > > > > > > > Val > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > > From: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > That's when they tell > > > > me that the " standard " dosing of P is 100 or 200 mg a day! Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Is there a definitive chart we can consult? Would these stupid compounding pharmacists know ? Or are they going to tell us all different things? In any event, 45 mg of vaginal P seems JUST RIGHT for me. It doesn't bother me with pain the way the cream did. I just wonder why. But I don't want to be stuffing 500 mg worth of P into myself! But what happened to my breasts today? THey totally DEFLATED!! > > My personal experience is that 50 mg vaginal compounded P capsules is 500 mg oral. Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Yeah, that's what it feels like. I just finished Day 7/10 on 200 mg oral and still no sore breasts. Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 NO..sustaining the pregnancy include many different things, including preventing your immune system from rejecting the fetus *one of the things progesterone does*... wrote: doesn't sustaining the pregnancy equate to "holding the lining"? > > > >> > > > The "standard" dose of P is 100 mg/day orally, but certainly > not > > > vaginally.> > > > > > > > Val> > > > > > > > -----Original Message-----> > > > From: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > That's when they tell > > > > me that the "standard" dosing of P is 100 or 200 mg a day! Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Oh I see. I didn't know this. doesn't sustaining the pregnancy equate to " holding the lining " ? > > > Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 , there is no chart. 45 mg of your P is different than 45 mg of mine. My miconized P is compounded and made for oral dosing. It's time release as well. It has a strong potency to it vaginally. I think more of your gel 45 mg is lost compared to this. Only way to know is to try. I seriously doubt yours is equal to 500 mg. Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 Oh so you are using it orally. Yes that is different. No I don't think 45 mg of Prochieve is equal to 500 mg oral. In any event, my P never shows up in blood tests. I had a really low P reading last time. > > > > > > My personal experience is that 50 mg vaginal compounded P capsules > > is 500 mg oral. Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 Why worry about it? It just takes more orally than vaginally. I do worry about the systemic effects of progesterone but it appears I'm getting a lot less by taking 200 mg orally than 50 mg vaginally. Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 I'm doing ok with the 45 mg Prochieve which I'm surprised about. The oral stuff though has the nasty habit of raising the SHBG though doesn't it? At least that's what Uzzi says. As long as it works for you and keeps the bleeding under control. I just have a strong feeling I " m going to end up like Madeleen. Fibroids galore. > > Why worry about it? It just takes more orally than vaginally. Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 i don't think P raises SHBG...E does..and oral E raises it more than transdermal... -J. wrote: I'm doing ok with the 45 mg Prochieve which I'm surprised about.
