I understand that it will look like SNF RUG - but as opposed to being

resource utilization groups it will be more of a " FRG " - or functional

related group and be based upon functional activities that the patient can

perform on admission and discharge. Will attempt to locate resources at

work, try HCFA web site in the meantime.

As another writer mentioned, we have heard that the Acute Rehab PPS will

involve a MDS-FRG (Function Related Groups). Unfortunately, there have not

been any proposed rules published yet. It has been proposed that PPS for

Acute Rehab will go into effect Jan. 2001 and that is approaching faster than

we'd like! We are all waiting on the edge of our seats for some information!

I am confident that when something comes out, PT Manager will alert us

promptly! (thanks for this service, !)
