Guest guest
Hi Cora, Just a quick thought on the parasites. I had Giardia and Blasto ( I think we all do to some extent?). Anyways, when I got the results back, it showed I had Giardia, and I got rid of it using Tinidazole http://www.factsandcomparisons.com/assets/tinidazole.pdf#search='tinidazole' I felt SO good while on this. I think I had to get it at a certain pharmacy. I had ZERO problems with it. He wanted me to use Flagl but I refused. I did a search and found out about Tinidazole and how it was easier on the system. After I was done, I was then told by the dr I was working with that, the rest of the test came back (he didn't notice that he didn't have all the results) He then told me I had Blasto and I was going to have to use something else. I did a search and found this medicine http://www.webmd.com/hw/infection/tc4132.asp . So my husband was in Mexico and got some for me as it's supposed to be even easier on the system. I never used it because it treats the same thing as the Tinidazole. So I have it still. I need to be retested and see if I still have the parasites. I don't think so. I have ZERO symptoms, at least I don't think I do. Just a thought. I am not one for using drugs but this seemed to help. He also told me I had H-Pylori and wanted me to go on that nasty major antibiotic routine for it. I refused. I ended up using Mastic Gum and it got rid of my heartburn and it never came back. He was the only dr that diagnosed H-Pylori. All other tests I had, including a stomach biopsy was negative. Not sure what was causing the heartburn (had it for a year) but the Mastic Gum cured it in a week. My Vit D actually came up a little over the middle last I tested. I need to retest. Liz Lynn...I am finding what you say about parasites quite curious. I’ll be interested when you hear back from your friend. I just tested low for vit D and ferritin and others. I have HL, gluten intolerance and now they say mild Hashimoto’s. A parasitology test came back positive for blastocystis hominis, a very common parasite. We are all exposed to BH all the time, but a healthy intestinal environment with beneficial flora is a hostile place for those little buggers. They seemed to have found my gut quite hospitable. A theory I am following is that the parasites which were numbered as “many” have compromised by gut and its absorption as well as creating inflammation and food intolerances. A domino game. My dr. feels the same. My tests also showed my intestinal bacteria are way out of balance which can be helped quite simply with a good probiotic. But the parasites are another thing to get rid of. I am working on that.My point is that my holistic dr. said I have malabsorption of my nutrients, hence low vit d, ferritin, etc. Why? Could be the parasites so I am going after them. I have been delaying the process because I cannot take the Rx – too difficult for me to tolerate, but I my accup is concocting a chinese herbal formula. After I finish the protocol which will take a couple of months, I will get retested. Restoring a healthy gut is a first line of defense for a lot of these problems. I am working on that too. BTW, my endo said they are finding out that low vit D is very common. Most everyone who is tested comes up low. Why, they don’t know.Cora
