Guest guest
Hi again Jan (endophobic)! >>It is good to share what works for you, but if you are going to >>give advice to others, you need to document your information. GREAT advice!! I'd like to see more documentation--it gives potentially good advice more credibility! And on that line, could you document your sentence that says that humans require a higher ratio of T4?? I'd like to read that and have it on hand: >Porcine thyroid has a T4:T3 ratio of 4.22:1. Most humans require a >higher ratio. Dr. Dommisse recommends a ratio of 6 or 7 to 1. Arem >recommends 9 or 10 to 1. Also, you state that " there are a few others who take a combination of Armour plus Cytomel for extra T3 " . I'd like to read about this, and what is happening to cause the need for adding Cytomel to Armour. Very interesting. (On Armour alone at 1 1/2 grains, my T3 is sky high!!) Thanks. Guest guest
Jan, pondering on something else. If some docs are thinking that the ratio of T4 to T3 needed is at least 6-to-1, or even 9-to-1, in humans, are they referring to what we " put in our systems via thyroid hormones " ? I am thinking that is what you are referring to. And, I wonder, how would that compute as far as what we can measure via blood tests after it is absorbed?? I am wondering if a 9-to-1 med might have good results in some, and not-so-good results in others..... I need to go to a good thyroid school. This fascinates me. Any documentation or links appreciated. Janie
Guest guest
(Hi Gracia. Not sure what your question means, but you replied to an email I wrote, which was a reply to Jan's email---#78.) By the way (for everyone), talked to a rep this afternoon at Armour, and he said that the reason pig thyroid was chosen it because it comes the closest to human ratio. Yet I thought it was not close to humans (75/25 vs 93/7)!!! Maybe he meant that it was the " closest " as compared to othre animals. hmmm I need to clarify this. Also, he explained that there are several ideas as to the ratio of T4 to T3 in humans, ranging in theory from 4 to 1, to 10 to 1. I have decided to find a clear but scientific-based text on thyroid so I will get it! Janie > > Hi, is this directed to me???? I didn't get this message. Where is it? > One thing I have noticed is that people who add extra T4 to duplicate so called human ratios, have T3 symptoms! Also I like the Broda approach which understands that thyroid works with other hormones, which when restored to normal levels helps thyroid to work at the cellular level. > Gracia
Guest guest
>I never got the email that talks about needing more T4, what number is it? Gracia, not sure what email that would be. If you go straight to the Natural Hormone site, and click on Messages on the left, you will find all the latest emails, numbered. Maybe you can check out the past 10 or so and find what you are looking for. Janie
