Thank you for your comments. I know there are services available in our

community but we have never taken advantage of them. I guess we have just been

coasting along and I also think we have been in denial about how bad things can

get very quickly. We have not made any long term plans but I realize now we

must get help and have some idea of what we will do later if things continue on

the downward spiral. Currently, we would like to keep my mom at home. She only

weighs about 100 pounds and normally gentle. In the last few years she has been

suspicious of anyone coming to do housecleaning or maintenance but I think now

we are just going to have to get some home health care to come in and provide

some services several days a week. I am keeping my eye out for the packet being

sent by the Alzheimer Help line. I plan of joining a support group as well.
