It has been seen here that MOST, not all but most men only can tolerate 3.0mg but if you can tolerate the 4.5mg then great.
Guest guest
I work full time and as far as the L'hermittes sign goes, Dr. Biharis first ms patient on LDN was a young girl with RRMS who had transverse myelitis and was completely numb from the chest down. She made a complete recovery and is still on LDN many many years later. I would have to get the article out again but I believe it is more than 10 years, not sure. Hi, I'm a 32 year old MS Best Bet Diet follower who experienced a serious relapse this year after a rather stressful time on many fronts. After this, and cheating on the diet on busy working days, I felt considerable worse and one of my hands went completely numb. This has gone, before taking LDN. I ordered Revia from the familar Mexican site and got it sent to Tokyo, where I live. My neurologist was having none of it. I started just three days ago and stayed awake one night after taking it, but otherwise have done fine (I've read about the importance of sleep between 2 and 5 a.m.). I feel stronger, though the L'hermittes Sign that has hit me in my latest relapse isn't disappearing as quickly as I'd hoped. Still, feeling more powerful and full of hope. Has anyone else lost their L'hermittes after beginning LDN? Is there any scientific evidence showing that a male should take 3ml and not 4.5? I work full time (being relapsing remitting) - are there many full timers out there? Best wishes and Happy New Year!!!
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome aboard! I've only been here a short while myself. From what I have read here and at the main ldn site, is males typically do better on 3.0 mg. I've have also noticed, that not everyone is the same, so you have to play around with the dose until you find the one that works for you. The ldn's main purpose is to stop progression. Any current symptom benefit is a bonus. Some people find their symptoms are better and others see no improvement on existing symptoms. I found for the first two weeks I had sleep disturbances. That has stopped but I still have vivid dreams. Not a bad thing! Lol! Your l'hermittes sign may not go away as this drug is not for existing symptoms. Having said that you may be lucky tho! You should not get worse than what you were experiencing pre ldn. Keep up the good thoughts and hope! Stress is a killer with this disease. Guest guest
I am a man with RRMS, 32 years old, and have been on LDN for 6+ months. I started with 4.5 mg compounded capsules. After about 2 weeks, after reading that men sometimes do better on 3 mg and since I felt quite a buzz, I thought I would decrease to 3 mg. I got generic Revia and started mixing my own at 3 mg (liquid method). A month or two later, I read a post by Bruce saying he takes 6 mg for cancer. I began taking 6 mg for about a week and felt like it was too strong. It disrupted my sleep. I came back down to where I am now, between 4.5 and 5 mg. This amount works for me. I also work full time. >> Kennard 1319 Buccaneer Dr Salt Lake City, UT 84116 (801)951-1392 www.nathankennard.com [low dose naltrexone] Newcomer. 4.5 - too high a dose for a male? Guest guest
What does feeling a buzz mean when you take too high of a dose? Can you clarify that for me? I would think that is your bodies way of telling you the dose is too high and you should be at 3.0. I talked to Skip before about this dosage issue and he told me I should stay at 3.0 since it was working for me and if i ever needed the 4.5 because I had a relapse or it didn't seem to be working for me it would be available.I just thought I would throw this in because new people are always wondering what dose. Maybe you should save the stronger dose for later unless you have progressed to a point it is not practical to do so. Guest guest
, I think the gender information about LDN dosage is strictly anecdotal and not true for everyone. For example, I do better on 3 mg, which I've been taking for two years now. The primary reason to take LDN is to prevent disease progression. Some people experienced almost immediate symptom relief and some of us have had very little. I also work full-time--I teach Drama and Conflict Resolution in an elementary school. Fatigue is the toughest thing, but I find a way through it. (Certainly, taking a cab to work in the morning helps!)
