Guest guest
Jeanne, The services that will now be available for Caitlyn are phenominal. We have tried very hard to get Greenspan's approach combined with ABA in Kendra's school but it is an ongoing struggle. As far as I can discover there are no wrap-around services available here. I consider a combination of Greenspan/ABA to be cutting edge technique for language difficulties and also some behaviors. Good luck with the new services. Since PDD is a diagnosis recently given to Caitlyn, I'm curious if you saw the program on NBC DATELINE recently that showed the discovery of the enzyme SECRETIN as a possible treatment for autism when the autism is caused by a deficiency in that enzyme? Some children have gained eye contact, and have increased language and interactions following infusions of SECRETIN. Some children have had milder reactions and some have not had positive reactions. More can be learned about SECRETIN at www.dateline.msnbc.com There are many unanswered questions regarding this treatment but the Autism Research Institute feels this is a significant breakthrough in autism treatment.
