Surgery Scheduled 1/17

Hi everyone. Well Dr. Bihari did not come through for me after all. I thought for sure he would encourage my Dr. to work with me in trying LDN before going ahead with surgery. She spoke to him today and he said he could not recommend it.

It will be a complete hysterectomy, womb, cervix, ovaries and all. It will be at 11AM Pacific time, Tuesday, January 17th. My wonderful friend Debby will be there doing Reiki during the two hour procedure. We are hoping they will allow her to be in the operating room; if not she will be nearby and sending.

So much of this is political. After all the encouraging information about LDN and cancer from Dr. Bihari, it came as a shock that his brief conversation with my doctor was so negative. I think he just can't afford to recommend trying it and taking time to see if it has any effect on my cancer...because he doesn't have enough statistics or FDA approval to back him up. Doctors are very vulnerable to malpractice accusations, and usually will not make any recommendations that could get them in trouble. In their paradigm the kind of cancer I have is to be attacked and conquered immediately, without delay. If they don't adhere to the going protocol they can be legally vulnerable. I'm sure Bihari actually believes LDN could prevent me from having surgery. But without the millions of dollar tests and FDA approval he probably can't afford to take the risk. And therefore neither can my doctor. Many of the patients he has tested LDN on were ones that the doctors had already given up on. There have been many miraculous recoveries including complete shrinking of huge tumors and total remission. But my particular category of cancer is only one small part of this control group, whose conditions are of a wide range of different diseases. There's not a huge statistic yet for endometrial ardenocarcinoma.

So, even though I am reasonably sure that LDN could remove my cancer gradually and without surgery, there is no way I can get support for this approach in the medical profession.

I also can't get a second biopsy and pathology exam. My doctor said she would give me a second biopsy for free (she is a sweetie) but that the pathologist's scrutiny of the resulting tissue would cost me around $200, because medi-cal wouldn't cover a second round. This would only be of use if we could postpone surgery anyway, because 1/17 is too soon to tell.

The good side is that Dr. Ann Marie will support me to take LDN before and after surgery. She agrees that this with acupuncture could be a good alternative to chemo and radiation, should any of the cancer be found in my lymphatic system. (this gets checked during surgery). Christy, my herbalist healer will support me in this too. So things look better for post-op. My biggest concern for post-op is having the care and rest I need and a reasonably non-infectious environment. I will be doing a lot of housework between now and surgery day. Too bad I can't just rest and pray.

And the best part of all is the support coming from so many directions, including many wonderful folks in the LDN community. I am so grateful. My children will be coming to stay that week; my son is coming from overseas, my daughter from Phoenix. She says she has to bring her puppy with her though... oy. I hope that's going to be ok with upstairs housemate and kitty Isha.
