Guest guest
Normi, you belong with us and in our hearts. Love Mom Kay -- (no subject) I sit here and and think, give up the fight,I feel this is my human right.I feel alone and in despair,I cannot find relief anywhere. Why must one suffer in so much pain, tears flooding the land like much needed rain.I search and struggle with all my might,While I sit here and think in the dim light. How much can a soul begin to take, before their spirit begins to break. My mind is whirring like a giant top,I can no longer make it slow down or stop.trust is now on some dusty shelf,I wonder if I can trust myself.I prayed and hoped for an anwer, but feel like I am being consumed like an out of control cancer.I think of my life, full of loss and heartache, where I bare many scars of earth shattering heartbreak. My mistakes are large, my regrets are huge, must be why my mind finds no refuge.I used to be strong and full of wit,now I wish I could just check out and quit.I am tired and broken now, like a toy,I am feeling numb, I feel no joy.No one listens, nor do they hear,I am feeling out of control and giving in to fear.I do not know where my life is now going, but the signs of overwhelming pain are truly showing.I cannot pull out of this deep despair,I do not belong anywhere.Normi*"The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" Guest guest
(no subject) 1.WHY DO MEN BECOME SMARTER DURING SEX? (because they are plugged into a genius) 2.WHY DON'T WOMEN BLINK DURING FOREPLAY? (they don't have enough time) 3.WHY DOES IT TAKE 1 MILLION SPERM TO FERTILIZE ONE EGG? (they don't stop to ask directions) 4.WHY DID GOD PUT MEN ON EARTH? (because a vibrator can't mow the lawn) 5.WHY DON'T WOMEN HAVE MEN'S BRAINS? (because they don't have penises to put them in) 6.WHAT DO ELECTRIC TRAINS AND BREASTS HAVE IN COMMON (they're intended for children, but men usually play with them) 7.WHY DO MEN SNORE WHEN THEY LIE ON THEIR BACKS? (because their balls fall over their assholes and they vapor lock) You're laughing, aren't you? 8.WHY WERE MEN GIVEN LARGER BRAINS THAN DOGS? (so they won't hump women's legs at cocktail parties) 9.WHY DID GOD MAKE MEN BEFORE WOMEN? (you need a rough draft before you make the perfect final copy) 10.WHY IS A MAN'S PEE YELLOW AND HIS SPERM WHITE? (so he can tell if he's coming or going) 11.HOW MANY MEN DOES IT TAKE TO PUT A TOILET SEAT DOWN? (it's never happened)

Here is the prayer: "Father, I ask You to bless my children, grand-children, friends, relatives and email buddies reading this right now. Show them a newrevelationof your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to theirspirit atthis very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace andmercy.Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Yourgrace. In Jesus' precious name. Guest guest
Debs, Can you get some acidophilus tablets or capsules? Taking one with each dose of an antibiotic will eliminate the Gastro upset that the antibiotic causes. It restores the natural bacteria in the bowel that keeps things on an even keel. You would do well to ask the doc to let you do things that way so you don't do something dangerous like stopping the antibiotics. Just a suggestion, honey. Worried and praying, here. Guest guest
Deborah Caught for speeding The cop got out of his car and the kid, that was stopped for speeding, rolled down his window. "I've been waiting for you all day," the cop said. The guy replied, "Yeah, well I got here as fast as I could." When the cop finally stopped laughing, he sent the kid on his way without a ticket. Stuck under a bridge A truck driver was driving along on the freeway. A sign comes up that reads "low bridge ahead." Before he knows it the bridge is right ahead of him and he gets stuck under the bridge. Cars are backed up for miles. Finally, a police car comes up. The cop gets out of his car and walks around to the truck driver, puts his hands on his hips and says, "Got stuck, huh?" The truck driver says, "No, I was delivering this bridge and ran out of gas." Intoxicated logic The drunken wino was stumbling down the street with one foot on the curb and one foot in the gutter. A cop pulled up and said, "I've got to take you in, sir. You're obviously drunk" The wasted wino asked, "Ociffer, are ya absolutely sure I'm drunk?" "Yeah, buddy, I'm sure," said the copper. "Let's go." Obviously relieved, the wino said "That's a relief - I thought I was a cripple." Dealing with trouble A deputy sheriff responded to a report of a barroom disturbance. The "disturbance" turned out to be well over six feet tall and weighed almost 300 pounds. What's more, he boasted that he could whip the deputy and Muhammad Ali too. Said the deputy, "I'll bet that you're also an escape artist....probably better than Houdini." The giant nodded. "If I had some chains," the deputy continued, "you could show us how strong you really are. But all I've got is a set of handcuffs. Why don't you see just how quickly you can break out of them?" Once in the cuffs, the man puffed, pulled and jerked for four minutes. "I can't get out of these," the giant growled. "Are you sure?" the deputy asked. The fellow tried again. "Nope," he replied. "I can't do it." "In that case," said the deputy, "you're under arrest." I'm going to a lecture The man was in no shape to drive, so he wisely left his car parked and walked home. As he was walking unsteadily along, he was stopped by a policeman. "What are you doing out here at 2 A.M.?" said the officer. "I'm going to a lecture." the man said. "And who is going to give a lecture at this hour?"the cop asked. "My wife." said the man.

Guest guest
Hi Debs I am really glad to hear that you are home. I sure hope that you will get to feeling better real soon. Gail came down yesterday with a toy that she had for Tyler. We had a county fair over the weekend and she was supposed to meet me there-the Oakridge Boys were playing. Well she did not show up and I did not hear from her until yesterday morning. Her and her boyfriend at the last moment decided to go to Lake for the weekend. So she told me not to tell Tyler that she was coming down. When she rapped on the door and I opened it, I closed it and told Tyler someone was here to see him. He jumped up and yelled "Aunt Gail". and ran to the door. She made her 17 yr old son Jay come because she left him home one day last week to go somewhere and his friend promised her they would not get into trouble. Well it seems that his friend got him drunk and high on pot and she found out from someone else. He told her I promise--she said yes Jay I heard that last week --no you are coming to Hudson with me-!!!!!! Today was the first day of school for the kids- Later on we are going to Chris's soccer practice. It is his first one for the season. He told me this morning that his first game Saturday-I told him that I can not go because I have to take the Civil Service Exam and that is more important than a soccer game. There will be other games on Saturdays that I can go to. Hope to see you posting as soon as you feel better and please thank your daughters for all the updates that they did while you were incarcerated. Guest guest
Hi Debs I am really sorry to hear that you are still having this much trouble with your knee. I wish that there was something that I could do to help you out in some way. I know how you feel about crying in front of Ron and your girls. I have been there done that and I am still doing it. Yesterday I was hurting a lot and went to my grandson's soccer game-my granddaughter also had one on the same field but at the end of the field--this field is huge a whole city block on the high school property--Tyler got mad because I told him that I was not walking across that field. I woke up hurting and feeling miserable--so he sat in his chair and played with my other grandson for a little bit-but when the game started he started his mess and embarrassing me. Finally and I both thought the game was over because the coach at the first practice said that the games would be 45 mins. So I folded the 2 chairs and started walking towards the van-he decided that he wanted to walk all the way across the field with to get le- I told him no to come on and get in the van that I had other things to do and that I needed to go to Wal-Mart--Gail told me about these new Excedrin Quick Tabs so I wanted to try them. At that point I would have paid someone for some pain pills if I knew anyone that had any. Well he acted like a pure fool and started screaming at me and she grabbed him so that I could get ahold of his wrist and take him to the van. When we were leaving Wal-Mart I heard someone speak to me and it was my ex sister-in-laws friend that I have known for over 30 years and we were talking briefly and she went to check out and I got in another line--All of a sudden he started screaming that he wanted to talk to Joanne and I told him that she was in anther line and may even have left--he kept screaming and I told him to knock it off that he was embarrassing me and he stood up and spit at me and hit me. I kept telling him he was going to be sorry for acting like a pure fool. Joanne walked by and came back and told him that if he did not stop that she was going to take him home with her-- I told her that I have talked to his doctor and was told that when we stayed over in Leeds that that was the worst thing that I could have done--I told her that I knew that however,I was not told that was punching holes in the walls etc. Joanne told me that she is afraid that is going to kill one of these days and I had said that a long time ago. Well Tyler refused to get in the van and I had to lift him up and physically put him in and closed the door --got around the other side to get in and I hear the door open--go back close it--same thing again --close and go back--same thing --we did this 4 times finally I told him that if he did it again that I was going to spank-which is something that I rarely do--he did it again so I ended up having to put on the child proof lock--I heard him try to open the door again and he screamed at me for locking the door so that he could not open it. He continued to scream and carry on all the way down the road to do laundry. By the time I got there I had had it and I had bought a high temp slotted spoon and spatula at Wal-Mart so I popped him with that and when we got in the laundry may le wanted to know why Tyler was crying--I told her that he had been really disrespectful towards me and that I spanked him. It was the same there. I told the 2 boys to get out of the chairs so 2 women could sit down-1 is pregnant and the other an older woman--I had my purse and the early edition of Today's paper on the chair next to me and he told me "why don't you move your stupid pocket book and paper front he chair and let them sit there. told that he had better get this tail off that chair so that the women could sit down. He did no problem--not Tyler--He just kept up all day so when I got home I made him lay down and 's boyfriend later on said something to me about it and I told him that I had had enough of his mess today and I could care less what time of the day it is HE WILL BE LAYING DOWN--that seems to be the only way for me to be able to control his behavior--THEN SO BE IT!!!!! Then got a little upset with me because I had told her that on the Saturday's that she has to work I will take to his game and then take him on over to Pam's for her--last night I told her that I am not going to do that because I am not going to have Tyler acting like a pure fool for over 2 hours and not be able to leave. She just looked at me and said "Oh well Pam's kids have their games on Saturdays so I guess she will have to bring along too. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing-because it makes it hard on her because she has to work every other weekend. I told her yesterday that I am so sick of to being able to do what I Want to do without him acting up and was crying at the soccer game because the people around me were starring because he was out of control. Oh well enough of this WHINING Do Hope that you get to feeling better though. Take care LOLDorothy -- (no subject) Hi all my dear Lupies friends,Well, here is the latest. The sepsis is VERY slowly going away, however, my knee has gotten increasingly worse. He took out the last remaining staples and now I have a hole in my knee the size of a half dollar and goes down at least 1/4 of an inch. I am currently doing wet to dry dressings twice a day in order to save that skin. His first thought was to call a plastic surgeon in and have him repair this hole, however, it the infection is not gone completely, then he is doing me no favors. Option #2, is to go in and remove the entire prosthesis, put in antibiotic treated cement in its place for approximately 6-8 weeks, take me off the IV antibiotics after an 8 week course, draw some cultures, make sure that the infection is COMPLETELY gone and then schedule OR time to do the total knee replacement again. A lot of hard work ahead of me. Most of my afternoons if not at the doctor's office, I spend crying, don't want to cry in front of Ron or the girls, Monday I didn't even care that I started crying in my ortho's office. I was in so much pain and that was before I saw the hole in my knee. The big concern is that the infection may have traveled to the left knee and the same problem may be starting there. I still have the two ports in my chest right now. The ortho is putting me in a different hospital as the one I was in is not equipped to handle my type of condition. I will be going to one of the trauma centers in the county. He feels that is the best possible place for me. I don't smoke, but I do chew on straws and right about now, I am about a 1 1/2 pack a day chewer! Well, at least, no calories or cancer!Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers, good wishes, phone calls and cards. They were the very best medicine that I ever could have received. I will love you all forever!Gentle, tender, pain free angel hugs to all,Debs in FL"The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" Guest guest
Deb, I can't believe this...omg. Oh how I wish we could just come and help you out. The things you have had to indure are not fair at all. I am praying for you honey. I pray that you don't have to do anymore than what has already been done. I will continue to pray that the left knee isn't affected at all too. How my heart breaks thinking of what you are going through. Huggs and kisses my friend :-) Keep your chin up though, don't let it get to you too much. God is there holding your hand and helping guide you through this all. God Bless and definiteyly take care. Guest guest
Hi Debs, I am kind of at a loss for words, yeah me! at a loss. I really thought ,that this last time you were medically incarcerated ,would prove to be the time you would come out with a positive outcome. Maybe it was just wishful thinking. I also think it is very hard to swallow the realities of what this disease can really do . I read another post from you, and just could not believe what I was reading. A 50/50 chance for survival with an upcoming surgery? That is just really hard to even fathom. The shock value of this must be unbearable. How is your family handling this? I do not even know how you are handling this. I know you are incredibly strong person, and I hope that strength will carry you through this upcoming surgery. Please know that I am going to be praying EXTRA EXTRA hard for you, and your family. I may start begging to be heard here. I feel so helpless that there is nothing I can do to take away your fear and pain. Know I am thinking about you , and asking for you to be taken care of by the man upstairs.Maybe I will see a falling star to wish upon. Love ya, Normi ----Original Message-----To: LUPIES <LUPIES >Date: Saturday, September 14, 2002 2:02 AMSubject: (no subject)>Hi all my dear Lupies friends,>>Well, here is the latest. Guest guest
Ah, Debs, my friend. I'm not sure I got it all straight in my mind what is and isn't being done about the sepsis. However, do not stop the antibiotics for at least seven weeks. I am speaking from experience. What are they giving you? When I nearly died from sepsis four years ago, it took every antibiotic they could find, and seven weeks with a portable IV and home care for the duration after three incarcerations before it was cleared up. And, I think a lot of it was my doc convincing me that it WOULD go away, in spite of all the Hell I went through and lack of faith toward the end of my last incarceration. So, I'm praying like mad for you and Deanna and our who is very bad right now. Rest as easy as you can, know we love you so much, and surround yourself in the comfort of that love. Guest guest
8am cortisol is up for interpretation- and will not give a definitive answer unless it is very low or very high, because of the varience in blood plasma. Had one. Doc will not interpret further than lab values. you will see my posts on how it is interpreted. Labs say that with it normal can be 6-28 or 10-28. However, anything under 18 is suspicious. Under 5 is definate, 6-17 suspicious (some docs say up to 25 suspicious), over 17 likely normal, over 28, possibly too high. There is a short cortisyn stimulation test where they take 8am cortisol as a baseline, inject you with pituitary hormone, and take another cortisol 30 minutes later and sometimes 60 minutes later as well. This is something my doc should be ordering for me since I had a 14. However he is not because all he knows are lab values on a peice of paper. I am doing the smokies test with Dr Ruth because I feel it is a problem. The smokies test will do your cortisol AND dhea, which will rule out some types of pituitary issues. Also it gives a ratio of DHEA to Cortisol, giving a broader scope of how stressed or insufficient the adrenals are. In your case, unless you have hashimoto's thyroiditis or a reason to believe you have a tumor or a past hemmorhage, I would stick with the smokies test. Doing an 8 am cortisol or stimlation test will not be effective if your adrenals are only a " little stressed " ...in addition, the saliva smokie test tests " free " cortisol and " free " DHEA not bound by plasma or protien, showing your reserve, while a cortisol only shows what is bound to plasma. It does not indicate reserve unless you do a stimulation test. reserve is the real issue with adrenals. Reason being that even at 90% gone they STILL give hormone. However, they are not able to rise to the occasion when you become stressed, so with no reserve, you would go into adrenal crisis, which can kill you. I hope this answers your question.
