Guest guest
I had an MRI at the beginning of the month, and it showed 3 new (very small) lesions. 2 of them are active according to the contrast. So today I decided to go along with my Neuro and have a solumedrol infusion. I figured it would knock out any activity that was still occuring. I am confused by differing opinions of what I have read regarding the combination of solumedrol/LDN. Does anyone have any incite they could offer? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Jon, Sorry, I don't have muc information about LDN and solumedrol. I was just wondering if you were currently taking LDN. There is the possibility of knocking out all effects of the LDN until the steroids wear down. I've seen a few lose all positive results from LDN by using steroids...and they were not having any exacerbation, their neuro told them that the steroids wouldn't hurt...in turn it took 2 to 3 months for the LDN to kick in properly again. Steroids suppress the immune system and LDN boosts the immune system. Just wanted you to be aware of what could happen. How long have you been on LDN, what dosage of LDN do you take and where do you get your LDN filled and if compounded, what is your capsule filler? Guest guest
Hi Jon, How has LDN effected you? Have you had a lessening of symptoms? My husband initially had a new small lesion come up after the first 2 months on LDN. In our thinking before taking LDN, was the MRI's would be a good test to see if LDN was doing its job. Of course our thought was Oh no, it is not working. But then we talked about it and re-evaluated what means " working " for him. He has had no new symptoms (even now after 1.5 years) and he went from going down hill quickly to 95% back to normal. So we decided not to do MRI's for a long while and just go by how he is doing and feeling. ly you would never know he has MS. So, if you are doing well on LDN, I don't know that I would go on the steroids. Another thing to think about, is that some times lesions do not show up on previous MRI's. How long have you been on LDN now? We are all here for you Aletha [low dose naltrexone] I need advice >I had an MRI at the beginning of the month, and it showed 3 new (very > small) lesions. 2 of them are active according to the contrast. Guest guest
Hey Bren! I have been on LDN for a little over a year at mostly 3.0 mg's, and I was one of the lucky one's that felt an overnight relief. I get my pills compounded at a local compounding pharmacy that she has other patients using. I like the shop, they embrace many aspects of alternative/holistic approaches to medicine. They use the calcium carbonate filler in their compounds. Actually, investigating fillers was probably going to be my next step. Would thre be an augmentation I could make that might benefit my position? Thanks for your time. Guest guest
Hey Aletha! I have been on LDN a little over a year when I had the MRI, and like your husband I am doing great! I also follow the Swank diet, exercise very regularly, and meditate a good deal. I recently went through some very stressful times with some medical issues that my wife experienced, plus the holidays really killed my healthy practices. So I think that is really the source. The MRI could not have fallen on a worse time to be honest. But anyway, LDN helped me almost instantaneously. It definitely works for me, and with my stressors back under control, I think I will be fine. Thanks so much for your time! Jon > > Hi Jon, > > How has LDN effected you? My own past experience and experience of a few others have found at times calcium carbonate can cause LDN to release slow, not always but it has happened several times. LDN MUST release fast each and every time to be of benefit. I suggest you shed the calcium carbonate immediately and ask that milk free Acidophilus be used if you are lactose intolerant. If you are not lactose intolerant I suggest you use lactose as your filler.

Guest guest
Hello Ken I am sorry to get involved in your conversation with but I have been lately in touch with Dr. Lawrence and he actually recomends: " The filler I use is Avicel (inert methyl cellulose). This is considered preferable to calcium carbonate " His diet is very much lactose free as well, so I think the lactose filler might not be the best either. I am actually interested in this topic myself so I will like to hear from if possible. Best > > > > > > --- In low dose naltrexone , " kloetus " <kloetus@> wrote: > > > > > > Hey Bren! Unfortunately I was allergic and so have several others been. I was using LDN with lactose and was doing great but I wanted to try LDN with Avicel to see if I could switch to Skip's pharmacy for a cheaper price. The Avicel filler caused headache, nausea and near vomiting. So I went back to lactose and all got better. The best alternative fillers to Lactose and Avicel is Acidophilus and Gelatin. Guest guest
Hi - I started LDN Feb 1. I can feel many differences in my strength, balance and fatigue. However, just this week I have had a headache and very sensitive to light. My LDN has lactose filler. I didn't think I was lactose intolerent but maybe I am? Should I wait it out? Maybe a side effect of LDN is a slight headache? Headache or not, I know that LDN is working, and its awesome! Thanks, Jen [low dose naltrexone] Re: I need advice >> Hello Ken> > I am sorry to get involved in your conversation with but I > have been lately in touch with Dr. Lawrence and he actually recomends:> > "The filler I use is Avicel (inert methyl cellulose). Lactose generally causes stomach upset but one never knows, it may cause headache also. Just keep a watch on things.
Guest guest
Hi Bren, Thanks for answering. If lactose effects your stomach, then that explains the nausea I've had. The headache comes and goes. Maybe its the flu that's going around. Thanks again, Jen [low dose naltrexone] Re: I need advice >> Hi -> > I started LDN Feb 1.
