Guest guest
I have found that the CM and SM makes it harder to do some things but also aging can cause weight gain. Our metabolism slows down as we age so it you had problems with weight before it gets even harder to keep it under control. I actually go to the gym 3 or 4 days a week. I started out just going to water arthritis class 15 years ago now I participate in several classes to the best of my ability. I found I actually started losing weight when I started taking classes that focussed on toning muscle groups and the core. Muscle burns more calories than fat. When I was diagnosed with CM and SM and could no longer work my drs. told me my job was to make sure I went to the gym so that is how I treat it. It is a scheduled activity after breakfast. I have also learned to pay attention to the number of calories I eat. No mindless snacking, no eating chips out of the bag. Controling portion sizes really can make a difference. None of this is rocket science it is really self discipline. Yes, some of my pain is worse when I go to the gym but overall I do feel better and sleep better if I am going to the gym regularly. We are fortunate to live near a gym that is affiliated with a hospital so they have very well trained staff and the classed I take are geared towards senior citizens or others with health issues. ________________________________
