Hi Everyone,

Okay, this is just one of the many issues I'm dealing with right now. My

cerebral tonsils enrobe or wrap around my brainstem. I was decompressed in 2002

by a " non-Chiari " specialist. I have since seen. 2 Chiari specialist who agree

with this statement.

My question which for me is simple; has anyone had this and what have been their

procedures, as well as the outcome for you.

Without naming Dr names please, respond to the group so maybe the ones who just

read us can learn as well.

I don't mind private emails but I think we all learn more when it's posted to

the group:)

Apparently, I'm a complicated case . . . ........who would have thought by

looking at me!

Thanks guys,

Decompressed (2002), Detethered, (2006), possible CCI,

Osteoporosis (2011), EDS just diagnosed, High spinal pressure (2011)

My daughter, Jessi, had surgery done last November because the tonsils were

impressing into the brainstem. Once the surgeon was in, he could see that the

tonsils were pushing into the brainstem, and the brainstem was overlapping the

tonsils.

He completely removed the cerebellar tonsils (which also had an artery wrapped

around them).

She is doing well and her Chiari headaches have decreased. Her sleep apnea seems

to be gone, and she hasn't even needed her asthma inhalers.

Hi Nita,

Thanks for the reply. I remember when Jessi was having her surgery but I

don & #39;t think I realized all the details.

My memory is one thing that is a problem for me.

It & #39;s good to know that something like this can be helped.

I & #39;m also glad to hear that Jessi is doing well. I was surprised to find

this information out after already having a decompression surgery but when you

don & #39;t do your own homework to find a specialist then a 2nd surgery may be in

the cards for us.

Thanks again for your reply.
