Guest guest
I looked around and found this website, which gives a little more information on RISOTRIENE. They call it a superfood and there may be something to that. The thing that bothers me right off the bat is " significant amounts " of Vitamin K, which is a coagulant. I don't know what many of the other things are in the list, and if it weren't for the Vit K I might look into it myself. Laurie http://www.thewayup.com/products/0220.htm " The following full spectrum of essential vitamins & minerals are present in significant amounts: Beta Carotene Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid) Biotin Vitamin B3 Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) Choline Vitamin B 12 Folic Acid Vitamin K Magnesium Phosphorus Manganese Iodine Sodium Vitamin E Zinc Chromium Chloride Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Calcium Inositol Potassium Iron Copper Selenium Breakdown of Components Carotenoids: Alpha-Carotene Beta-Carotene Zeaxanthin Lutein Lycopene Beta-Cryptoxanthin Xanthophyls Phospholipids of Rice Bran Phosphatidyl Ethanolamine Phosphatidyl Choline Lysophosphatidyl Ethanolamine Phosphatidyl lnositol Phosphatidic Acid Phosphatidyl Glycerol Diphosphatidyl Glycerol Phosphatidyl Serine Inositol Myo Inositol Polyphenols & flavonoids Ferulic Acid Para-Coumaric Acid Para-Sinapic Acid flavonoids Diferulic Acid Complex ISO-Vitexin Gamma Oryzanol Cycloartenyl Ferulate 24-Methylene Cycloartanyl Ferulate Campesteryl Ferulate Beta-Sitosteryl Ferulate Stigmasteryl Ferulate Phytosterols 4-Dimethyl Sterols: Beta-Sitosterol Campesterol Stigmasterol 5 Avenasterol 7 Stigmastenol Delta 5 Avenasterol (Insofucosterol) 4-Methyl Sterols: Granusterol Citrostadienol Obtusifoliol Additional Antioxidants Glutathione Lipoic Acid "
Guest guest
Laurie, on the list of ingredients, there is also Para-coumaric acid - is this a relative of coumarin? If so, you may not be afraid of vit K..? Guest guest
Hi Stania, It may be a relative of coumarin and you have a good point. I'll go try to find out, and thank you :-D Laurie Stania said: " Laurie, on the list of ingredients, there is also Para-coumaric acid - is this a relative of coumarin? Guest guest
I have not heard of it, Dean. I am skeptical of these things but that truthfully means nothing. I would rather eat the "real" product, taste it and enjoy its benefits at the same time. Dean Chirigos wrote: I just got a brochure ( unsolicited ) touting the value of risotriene. Has anybody in the group tried it ? It is a food supplement derived from rice which supposedly is full of good stuff to boost the immune system and cure all sorts of ailments. I am always skeptical of these kind of claims as we have all seen a lot of similar " miracle cures "- like moducare , arthro-6, etc., which in my experience do absolutely nothing. Guest guest
I don't think there is a miracle pill to boost your immune system. Eating raw fruits and vegetables, and eliminating fatty and starchy foods is the best way. Oh and reducing stress too. There are whole food suppliments made from juiced and dehydrated vegetables that if processed correctly (without heat) can be beneficial. Juice Plus and Perfect Food are two that i know of and im sure there are many more. These green foods can help you get the more than 10 servings of raw vegetables you need to consume each day. Even the American Cancer Society says you need 5-9 servings and we know they will be on the conservative side. And of course thats raw because cooking reduces the nutricional value considerably. Guest guest
Good for MS? Just discovered this today on the web. http://www.4ihs.com/risotriene.html
Guest guest
Well, that's how it was at first... but after hearing some real people's opinions, customers, rather than MLM sellers, I don't think I'm missing out on anything. Re: [low dose naltrexone] RisoTriene I would have had the same problem Larry. The saving grace for getting my husband to try LDN was that I was able to say that no one is making any money off of this. Otherwise he was saying it must be snake oil. It would be a shame to miss something very helpful just because it was being marketed, but we can't help but worry about peoples intentions.
