Guest guest
If trials occur, and Naltrexone is approved as an MS treatment, the price should not change too much. Naltrexone was FDA approved in 1986? for withdrawl. The patent runs out after 7 years. I think the drug is now generic, any drug company can manufacture it. If so, the drug companies will compete for our LDN business, thereby holding the price down. I don't think one company can monopolize the supply. That is why they are not interested in running clinical trials, as there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Millions of sufferers may recieve great benefit, but that does not help the corporate profit and loss statement. Maybe I am cynical, but the bulk of the medical community, and definitely the drug companies are in it for the bucks...........
Guest guest
Good News! I just got off the phone with my GP. He said he would write the script for LDN. I don't think he feels it will do anything to help, but he knows it won't hurt me, so he's willing to try it! I am so happy! Thanks for all of you for all of the information you've given me! [low dose naltrexone] Price of LDN> If trials occur, and Naltrexone is approved as an MS treatment, the> price should not change too much. Naltrexone was FDA approved in> 1986? for withdrawl. Guest guest
We pay just under $70 (with no insurance) for three months supply of 4.5mg - that includes shipping. That is cheaper than $35 for one month supply but it may not suit everyone to wait for it to arrive in the mail. Ours is from Skips who are obviously going to be more competative than smaller pharmacies that dont compound so much. For someone like Bren, who is very knowledgeable as a long term user of LDN, her using a phamacy off the list of course is fine but for new people who are just starting out and dont know what to ask for, it`s probably better to use one on the preffered list. Guest guest
Skip said at one of the ldn conferences that he only makes $1 on the ldn because he wants to get it out there to people who need it, so he would undoubtedly have the best price. On Sat, Jun 19, 2010 at 4:08 PM, cat707k <bevhk@...> wrote: We pay just under $70 (with no insurance) for three months supply of 4.5mg - that includes shipping. Guest guest
I believe when first started using LDN 7 years ago she was getting it from Skip's Pharmacy, but because he uses only Avicel as a filler she found she had digestion problems due to that. I think Skip has added other fillers to his formulary since. Art -- > > We pay just under $70 (with no insurance) for three months supply of 4.5mg - that includes shipping.
