, I am the Rehab Director at an LTAC, who receives very complex wounds

and sends some of these patients to SNF;s when appropriate. You are so

right that the creams and systems used are costly. The best advice I have

is that you get good data for using the expensive stuff and include how it

is used as well as when. If you are part of a network, getting the wound

care experts together to decide on a service and debrider formulary that

becomes your standards for wound care is your best course. If wound vacs

cannot be safely or appropriately handled by the staff you have, clearly

state this to your clinical operations manager. I hope this helps!!
