Guest guest
cant tell from a mri if progression has stopped, and i know here in canada they warm about having alot off mri;s do to the risk off causing tumours --- julespalaia <julespalaia@...> wrote: --------------------------------- HI I've been taking LDN for 6 months ( 4.5mg in liquid form at night for 5 months) without a problem but a couple of days ago I started to feel new symtoms- pins and needles in my right leg. In two days it has turned to a numb/tight feeling and spreads from the sole of me foot to the top of my rib cage. I haven't had these symptoms before. My last relapse (pre-starting LDN) was very similar but on my left side and left me with some weakness and discomfort in my left arm. While I can handle the sypmtoms I'm really disappointed that they are NEW and therefore, I assume, indicating that progression has not been halted. I am also following the Best Bet Diet. Does anyone have any advice on what my next step should be. I do not intend to give up on LDN yet and have called to get a new MRI scheduled, which will take a while. Any thought or ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks, JUlia
Guest guest
Really? Why, MRIs don't emit radiation like CT Scans do. Guest guest
Hi , How old is the ldn? I thought I read awhile back that there is a shelf live to ldn mixed with water. I remember talking to my pharmacist awhile back when I was going to try the liquid and mixing my own. He said something to the effect that if you pre mix it be careful how much you make ahead of time. For some reason a week and a half sticks in my head. Albiet an ms head :0) Just a thought. Guest guest
Do you get your LDN from Skips? Why don't you ask him about the Procarin he carries? I have never tried it but it might get you out of this exacerbation and thus eliminate need for steroids or something invasive. Best wishes, Kathy [low dose naltrexone] NEW SYMPTOMS - Any advice? > HI > I've been taking LDN for 6 months ( 4.5mg in liquid form at night > for 5 months) without a problem but a couple of days ago I started > to feel new symtoms- pins and needles in my right leg. Guest guest
HI THanks for you responses. I get my LDN from Skips in 1.5mg capsule form and mix it each night, so it shouldn't be old. I'd appreciate any other thoughts from anyone. HAs anyone else been told that MRIs cause tumors?? and is it true they won't show progression/stopped progression? THANKS!!! > > Hi , How old is the ldn? I thought I read awhile back that > there is a shelf live to ldn mixed with water. Guest guest
Possibilities that have been mentioned by some are sinus infection, dental infection, recent dental work, even if successful, the culprit *possibly* being the local anethesia, and stress. My wife recently had yet another sinus infection that presented none of the ordinary symptoms except fatigue and bloody tissue after blowing her nose. No drainage, pain, headaches, congestion. This time it was in her ears, too. This has been a recurring problem for her. Presumably, she doesn't realize it's happening because she's semi-numb in her sinuses due to MS. Are any of these issues affecting you? julespalaia wrote: >HI >I've been taking LDN for 6 months ( 4.5mg in liquid form at night >for 5 months) without a problem but a couple of days ago I started >to feel new symtoms- pins and needles in my right leg. Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the advice. I've been following an anti-candida diet and suplements for almost two months. I feel a lot better for it and lost a couple of symptoms within weeks that I had attribuited to MS. Do you have any other thoughts on my new symptoms? Am I right in assuming that this means progression has not stopped? If so, what should my next step be? THANKS TO ANYONE WITH ADVICE! Guest guest
HI Wesley, Thanks for your thoughts. I have been having some discomfort behind my ears. If it is a sinus infection, how does one treat this without antibiotics? THANKS! > > Possibilities that have been mentioned by some are sinus infection, > dental infection, recent dental work, even if successful, the culprit > *possibly* being the local anethesia, and stress. Guest guest
This doesn't help with treating per say, but heating pads come in handy for me. My sinus problems begin with a full head and ears. I use a heating pad to work the liquid out of my ears(I just lay there in blissful comfort....it feels wonderful. The heating pad is on my neck and ears, so it also makes those swollen glands feel alittle better). I get a sinus infection EVERY time I miss more than 2 doses of my allergy meds(allegra, allegra D, and Nose spray) in the same week. I immediately begin draining my ears, and that helps with keeping the headaches and swollen neck glands to a minimum. I also spend some extra time in the shower, or running hot water when I do dishes over the sink. I breath in the steam to clear out my nose and sinuses. That seems to help. I usually only take Nyquil to sleep at night, and suffer through the rest though. I hate being on ANY medication at work. (Side Note: Co-workers get EXTREMELY upset with you when you walk around with a kleenex in your nose to prevent drips....they laugh, but it makes them uncomfortable for some reason..... ). That's all. I am probably not the best of examples, since I don't get the rest I should get when I am sick. But, I do know how to make myself more comfortable in my misery . Hope this helps. If it's the ReVia consider getting you liquid LDN in pure naltrexone powder.

Would I just ask Skip for pure naltrexone? ANYONE- It seems no one wants to reply to my queries about MS progression. Is it likely that I am just going to be one of the people LDN is not going to help? HAs there been any past discussion or experience with new symptoms with minimal progression? Thanks.
