Yes, I still want to unsubscribe to this list serve. I thought it was

interesting that the ones that had already written requesting to unsubscribe had

to yet again be the ones to write to verify unsubscribing. Maybe the other way

around would have been a small way to apologize for the inconvenience of

hundreds of emails? Just a thought.

Dear ,

I too agree with many of the others who have expressed gratitude at what you

are doing. You have irritated people, and that is GOOD, these people need to

know there are people like you, me and many others out there that are plain

tired of being spoon fed only what THEY allow us to have. We want more, and I

say how many of them that are complaining would complain if they were in our

shoes? IF they were in our shoes, then THEY would understand where you are

coming from and be glad to engage in dialogue and helping to enact change

just as you are trying to do. THEY would be screaming bloody murder if THEIR

kids or loved ones were NOT getting needed therapies, but then hey maybe

those people who are WHINING might be the kinds of people who are only in

their profession for the great pay an benefits, and really wouldn't care

about whether their kids or loved ones were doing without. Maybe just maybe,

I do know that there are STILL good, helpful people in this world, not

everyone is a stuffy shirt, keep digging, we will get there with or without

them. I am on your side.

[ ] An apology

Dear list members,

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I unsubscribed about 150 mostly angry

people that I had subscribed to the list without their

permission.

These unsuspecting subscribers included every director of special education

from all 50 states, the president and board of directors of United Cerebral

Palsy--plus all 150 or so UCP chapters from across the country.

Other subscribers included various members of disability advocacy groups.

Still other subscribers included the day-to-day administrative personnel of

HCFA/CMS--the folks that are making the decisions and pulling the trigger

on what services are allowed and disallowed.

I had also subscribed staff members of the national Brain Injury

Association--plus their individual state offices.

Base subscribers included influential members within the hierarchy of the

Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, the controlling entity of

Hyperbaric Medicine.

What I had hoped to accomplish with this gathering is a place where we

could exercise our freedom of assembly, a place where we could talk and

share and discuss and debate and finally reach some sort of concensus on

the incredible, life-changing, society-changing treatment known as

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Instead we shut down .

Can we try again?

If you still want to remain subscribed don't do anything.

If you want to unsubscribe, write to me directly--not the group--and I'll

unsubscribe you.

mailto:dfreels@...

Otherwise, let's talk.

I feel as though you are getting shafted for nothing! Please know that

some of us out here know how hard you work to help our kids. I appretiate

everything you have done and continue to do. If these angry people can't

follow directions in EVERY EMIAL on how to unsubscribe, then that is their

fault. If they can't simply " delete " then maybe they have their own issues

to deal with. Thank you for trying to educate everyone, thank you for

Dear ,

Am I missing something?

Something must be wrong with this group:

I am not receiving HUNDREDS of replies to you, but about a dozen

unsubscribe requests wrongly posted to the group, instead of following

Katrina,

you write " We would have done this research within little people of our

country, but only about 20 of them are members of the group which is trying

to gather them together. "

What country and school do you attend? You still haven't answered questions

we have of you.

Barbara

An apology

It appears that our questions made a lot of you feel angry and insulted.

So, I would like to apologize for making you feel this way. You all say we

should have told you from the start exactly who we are and what is the

purpose of our study.

The truth is that we never meant to do any harm or to make you feel like

you're just some experiment subjects. Since we come from a small country in

Europe, we were warned by our mentor from her own experience not to tell our

residence if not necessary, since a lot of people don't take you seriously

if you come from a small country they might have never heard of, so this

makes our research a lot more difficult. Since our first spoken language

isn't English, we might have expressed our selves awkwardly or in the way

that wasn't right. We are sorry for that. Some of you were worried about the

content of the questions we asked you: these are standard questionnaires

which were written mostly by American researchers to use on everyday people

and must be used in our research since they have already been tested and

found valid. I would agree that some of them might be offensive but due to

their integrity (I shore hope this the right word for what I meant to say J)

we mustn't let anything

out.

And most important, please don't think we are not aware of you all being

individuals with your own identities. We wrote " one of the little people "

just to make shore we got to the persons we intended to, not because we

would think you're just " some people " .

So, again please accept our apology. It's important for us to get this

information since us finishing this college year might depend on it. But to

me personally (it's Katarina who is writing this message) it is also

important that you understand, we meant no harm and that with this research

no harm will be done to little people as well. We would have done this

research within little people of our country, but only about 20 of them are

members of the group which is trying to gather them together.

I hope this made things a little clearer. Thank you if you perhaps decide

to respond anyway. If not, thank you for at least listening instead. Since,

this is the last day of 2005, I wish you all a Happy New Year 2006, full of

God's blessing and loving bonds with all around you.

Please forgive me for all the lexical and grammatical mistakes I might

have made.

Have a nice day J !

You say you come from a small country in Europe, but apparently it is not this

countries custom to first introduce oneself properly before trying to intimately

interrogate a small minority of people in other countries. Whatever country it

is you come from, it would appear that you feel you have the God Given Right to

ask the most intimate of questions.

As Barbara said, even with your long apology, you have still not introduced

yourselves properly, explained the course you are on, explained the hoped for

outcome of this intrusive cack-handed survey you have contrived, taken into

account the fact that members of this group begin from a very early age, nor

sought to placate the worry of those you appeal to.

Maybe you should construct a similarly intrusive, interigational questionaire

about yourselves, and supply the answers at the same time.

Then you may, just may, find that people understand you and your motives that

little bit better.

Cheers

Fred, who, for all he hates questionaires, did attempt to fill it in.

Is these are standard American questions, why did they need to be

Thanks ahead of time for answering these and Barbara's questions.

Now I'm insulted! I wanted to be offended! lol

But see it only goes to show that as a few of us were (possibly)

mistaken by your original post and its intent, and conversely then

you felt you were mistakenly misunderstood by those same few and

their initial reaction to it. So we may need to apologize too?

Because in as much as you (may) come from a small country, you may

need to forgive the few of us on here who also come from a small

country. Well, if they don't actually live there, they tend to

visit 'there' a lot:P. It's called the land of Assumptia, which

ironically may be next to your small country? So, can we all move on

and just ask the questions?!:P Grady pondering to himself, " What were

the questions anyway?! " :\

Katarina, email me the questions privately and don't worry I'll even

correct your lexical and grammatical errors for ya:P.
