Dave is right,

Essentially the MS society in the US has advertisements on their web site for the big pharmacy companies that carry the CRAB meds. I don't think the MS society is really working to get rid of MS as that would put them out of business. Like many organizations, it most likely started with a very good intention of supporting those with MS and trying to help irradiate the disease. However as organizations grow the original intention or these organizations change and sustaining the organization becomes the main focus.

Then stance that the MS society in the US had taken towards LDN was quite negative a while back. It was interesting that they would not even take a look at it or even say well, at this time there has been no testing so we really can't say yet. Instead they just attacked it (as best I recall). This tells me that they saw it as a threat to their sustainability rather than as a possibility to help those it originally organized to help.

So as far as helping to fund testing for LDN, I would think they would say no. But it would be great to give it a try.

Has Anyone TriedI was just looking at the NMSS (National Multiple Sclerosis Society) web site and saw the following:"The National Multiple Sclerosis Society provides funds for limited short-term support of research in areas where preliminary data are scant or nonexistent. This program is designed to support unique or novel ideas with the potential to open significant new areas of research on multiple sclerosis. Projects that are simply extensions of on-going research or that already have ample supporting data will not be considered." I agree that no drug company is going to undertake an FDA approved study of LDN but the MS Society is supposedly not driven by a profit motive but driven to find a cure. There must be at least one idealistic researcher in the world who would like to study a drug with the anecdotal promise of LDN and I'm sure most of us would love to see the Society made to live up to its lip service. So, why has nobody applied for MS Society funding for an LDN study (or if they have and been turned down, publisize that)?________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
