Guest guest
Dear Janel- We shall say some extra prayers for you and your family. May you feel His strength and may your mom have a peaceful end to her journey. With heartfelt hugs- Sandie and Des Moines, IA dad, Merle, passed from LBD, 9-20-02, age 65 mum, Jo, lives in New Zealand with LBD, age 77 -- Final Days I want to thank all of you who have shared your stories and have offered words of great wisdom over the past year that I've been reading this list. My mother (89) is in her final days (according to Hospice) and the stages have all been exactly as you all have said they would be. My family has appreciated knowing what was to come and have made some important decisions about medication and other things based on the information that I have read on this list. My father was in " keep her alive at all costs mode " until we convinced him that that was not the most humane thing to do at this point. She began refusing food and medication about 2 weeks ago and we are respecting her wishes. She is resting comfortably most of the time now and is getting morphine for the times when she becomes aggitated. My mother is profoundly deaf (for the last 50+ years) so communication has been our biggest issue now that she will not open her eyes. Thank you again.
