Guest guest
Hello , This looks like an incredible delivery system and a perfect way to remove from addicted people the temptation of not taking the med. and backsliding until they are stable and ready to monitor themselves. How great a possibility for the growing number of Meth users. It does however beg the question, "why so expensive", and, is that the potential future cost of naltrexone for all who need LDN? Will FDA trials eventually drive up the cost of naltrexone for all who need it to a prohibitively inaccessible level? I've wondered what the thinking is on that once trials are conducted. Guest guest
Hello Gigi, I'm totally guessing here but as far as the expense goes, I thought that myself - couple thousand was the quoted cost, I think ?? geez. Anyway, I figured because you have to have a doc. make an incision to insert the med. was most of the reason. OR is that an additional fee? Can't remember how long it lasts - maybe one to two months... about what my Rebif costs (approx. $1700.00 per month)... From what I've read tho you don't want the slow release stuff anyway - so I seriously doubt a future treatment for an autoimmune disease. Unless of course, they can figure out how to release a small dose every night.. Looks like the treatment is designed so the addict is not dependent upon themselves to take a daily med. that will stop the effects of the heroin or narcotic... They will fail miserably and relapse - if they even get that far - so this delivery method should take that perhaps " intentional " missed dose out of the equation. Kinda sad when you really reflect on it... Herion addicts (self induced - to a certain degree) get an FDA trial for a new form of treatment specifically designed because they can't reliably take a med. daily but MS'ers can't for LDN who would take meds. religiously, even if the side effects were horrendous.. Makes one wonder sometimes. Oh well, I think supply and demand is going to dictate the cost - of any med. - then again if LDN is ever FDA approved for MS, I really don't care what it costs because my insurance wound help pay for it. > http://kdka.com/local/local_story_058222015.html > > Saw this story on the local news last night and thought I'd share. > > If the above link doesn't work... try kdka dot com and > search " naltrexone " ... > > > > > >
