Hi Sheng, Having taken care of my mom who had cancer when I was seventeen I remember trying to learn all I could while at the same time feeling helpless to "make her better". That was a long time ago when there was no one to talk with, poor prognosis, little support and no computers~eeek! We've come a long way.......so, I'll throw a little more of what I learned so far, then I'll shut up until or if you ask. Pain, stiffness, and bowel and bladder problems seem to be pretty universal among MSers. Frequent UTIs often treated with antibiotics disrupts the natural flora and the cycle continues. Aletha, Bren and others have stressed to be watchful of candida yeast and posted the addy for candida test and remedy. The natural preventatives and remedies are much gentler on our compromised

systems. Promoting homeostasis in this manner appears to reduce the physical and emotional stress B & B problems cause. It has required some study and a few dietary changes but I am healthier for this than keeping on that doctor visit/antibiotic/nystatin wheel. I still slip up, end up at the doc. for UTI or sinus infection meds, but at least now, I, feel like I have more control and my doctor visits for these problems have become fewer as I've become more vigilant about testing, eating right and supplementing along with the LDN. Pain is a tough one, I too weaned from the pain meds, aspirin and masage with muscle rub or essential oils help me. I occasionally get a reduced dose shot for the worst pain in left hip. It's down from every two weeks through October 05' to last week being the first shot in three months. I'm trying to rebuild the dab of

cartilage left with twice daily Knox gelatin in juice. If it has worked for years on hair, nails and skin, it will work for joint cartilage as well. Stiffness..........I'm still stiff, some days better than others not necessarily dependent on what I did the day before! I can live with that. Faith, the need to continue parenting my teen son, my sideways humor, and having a supportive network (family, friends, LDNers) keeps me going. Right now, it is more of apain management issue. She also has issues withurination/bm controls and fatique. I was told thatstiff legs would go away after about three month. Hi Gigi, Thank you for your kind email. What is in

your " shot " ? My Mom used to get the cortizone (sp?)

shot once a month or so. She hasn't had it since

starting LDN. She would dearly want a shot if

" allowed. " She is just toughing out the pain for now.

You have a great outlook on life. I must learn from

you. Thank you for your support. Warm regards, Sheng

Hello Sheng Ling, Sorry for the long delay in answering, computer problems and away. I'm guilty! My "shot" is a reduced dose of corticosteroid and lidocain, it had been about three months since the last one and I just gave in. I had been doing more than I should have and I guess it aggravated the hip. I have to learn moderation even on days I feel better. Hope your mom is feeling better. Hi Gigi, Thanks for your email. My Mom uses Lidocain

patches on her lower back and hips to help her number

the pain a bit. She has Rheumatoid Arthritis and

MS-like symptoms. She is hanging in there. I just

hope that LDN helps her with her trips to the

bathrooms some, not to mention the pain. We know that

RA, MS, Crohns's (sp?), and interstitial cystitis...

are all auto immune illnesses. And many doctors use

the same immune suppressive meds to treat these

diseases. My Mom refused to use immune suppresive

drugs. Take care! Sheng-Shih
