Geri, this is so true. I was diagnosed, and not a thing was asked about how I

felt or how I was going to deal with it, or what it could or would do to a

family. It is just like you were born to know what to do and the Dr. leaves

it up to you. Plunk right in your lap. Go figure. Lynn

Lynn,

Once you get into the pre-transplant phase (and I hope you don't!) they

usually do have you talk to a psychologist and/or social worker so they can

evaluate how you're taking your condition and to try to get some idea about

how much family support there is. But, unfortunately, the doctor(s) you

see on a regular basis may not bother with any of this. Many doctors are

uncomfortable with dealing with the emotional side of their patients.

That's unfortunate, because our attitudes and emotional well being has so

much effect on our health and how we will deal with crisis. Sometimes I

yearn for the days when you could talk to a family doctor about almost

anything. On the other hand, many of them were good at that but not

necessarily gifted in comprehensive medical care. I guess we're paying a

high price for " progress. "

Take care,

Geri

Hi ,

I hope I don't sound repetitive, or I can't remember if we have already gone

over this together before, but my husband tried many different anti

depressants along with different theories and nothing worked until he took

DLP. His depression disappeared like magic. Is this something you can

take? Not to be taken if you have high blood pressure. You can buy it at

the health food store. See earlier chat from below:

Aletha,

I did see that posting at the group. My confusion is that my

antidepressant was working fine and I was quite happy with it, yet

after starting the ldn I went from a better mood all around

initially to where I find myself very short tempered for no reason.

That is why I wonder if anyone else has had mood changes that they

think may be related to ldn.

I'm glad the DLP is working so wonderfully for your husband! I am

just at a loss at what is causing this mood problem.

Thanks!

I would still just try the DLP and see if it helps. Your body is now making

a lot of endorphins and my understanding is that DLP helps as a sort of fuel

for endorphins. I had an earlier post in this regard, but I can not seem to

find it. Solaray is the best brand of DLP, we ran out and I strangely

enough can notice the difference with the brand that we got from the vitamin

store. I was surprised. I will be ordering more Solaray brand today.

Aletha,

I'm certain it couldn't hurt to try the DLP as these mood changes

are becoming a real problem for me. Is Solaray a brand I can find

at the regular pharmacy (Walgreen's, CVS, etc.), or is it only at

specialty pharmacy's or has to be ordered online? Thanks for the

advice!

Hi ,

I have found Solaray products at the vitamin store and at the health food

store, but they never seem to have the DLP. I have only gotten that so far

from on-line. The vitamin store said they could order it for me, but I

noticed that they are much higher in price.

I will have to go back quite a bit and find out who I purchased it from

before or just look on the web for a good price.

That is a great question , I don't know. It works very well with LDN,

but I don't know about with the crab meds. I might wait and try the LDN for

a while and then add DLP after you know how the LDN works for you by itself.

I try and have my husband only try one new thing at a time so we can keep

track of what is working or not.

Aletha,

Sounds like a good plan. I'm sending a packet of information to my

GP today to see if he'll Prescribe the LDN. Hopefully he'll let me

try it. We'll see. I'll keep you posted.
