restless legs can be a result of shortage of iron or magnesium or

both.

>

> I have an apt with a neurologist on Friday and plan to discuss LDN

with him. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Restless Legs

Syndrome, Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, Hypothyroid, and High Blood

Pressure. I'm currently on Armour Thyroid, Mirapex for the legs and

Benicar for Blood Pressure. I am extremely sensitive to most

medications, so that even though I have tried a lot of them, I can't

take most normal meds. I am trying to gather as much info as I can

on Fibro and LDN to take to the Dr., but I am primarily going for

the Restless Legs. I was wondering if anyone had noticed any

lessening of symptoms that I could mention?

>

> I did check with the only compounding pharmacy in my area and they

said they have no doctors prescribing LDN. I haven't approached my

primary physician about LDN because I've just replaced my Synthroid

with Armour Thyroid in the last month after a 2 year fight. (Yes I

do feel a difference already. I've been post menopausal for 10 years

and this is the first time I've ever had hot flashes. Just twice a

day, everyday, and not really that bad.) I'm also doing gluten

free, etc. and think that is also helping my Fibro. Anyway the pain

feels not quit as sharp.

Thanks for replying. I had blood tests in April. My Iron, Ferritin and Magnesium were all fine. I have no idea what is causing mine, but just to be safe I take extra Ferrous Gluconate and Magnesium citrate anyway.

You are absolutely correct. Low magnesium levels and low Iron levels

can cause spasms. My son had cramps in his legs before we knew he had

Crohn's. He was significantly low on Iron. Lately we checked his Mag

and it was low. Magnesium taurate or malate are well absorbed but a

little spendy. Mag citrate is reasonably priced and well absorbed.

Most women need about 300-500 mg per day for osteoporosis, cramps,

migraines etc.

Hi, I had a lot of cramps in my feet, legs, abdominal muscles, arms and fingers, even if I yawned wide I had terrible cramps. I had enough iron back then and started LDN a year ago. All my cramps went away after some weeks on LDN. :-) Ingrid
