Buyers or Sellers Market?

Sorry for the lack of identification. I am a PT in Wisconsin in both a

hospital setting and private practice. Your point is well taken, however, I

disagree that we are always the buyers market. There are many opportunities

out there for PT's to be in the sellers market if there was more

business-minded PT's. This would help initiate better self worth to our

profession which would allow PT's another perspective when dealing with the

buyers market.

SIncerely,

Clinics

I definitely agree with Leonard. Furthermore, I thought this topic

deserved its own thread rather than a continuation of the PRN issue. We are

able to market ourselves....we already do so withour patients all the time!

We " sell " them on the benefits of PT. It is my opinion that part of our job

is to " sell them " ...and educate, motivate and coach...so that they want to

follow through with our professional recommendations.

There is, however, the issue of business mindedness amongst PT's. I believe

that there is a way to provide services in many " nontraditional models " .

There is a bit of work involved, but it can be done. One question is how to

maintain a business so that we can provide these services for a long time in

the future in these nontraditional models. It is possible. There are PT's

doing so...and doing quite well!

Once, there was an idea. The idea was like a seed. The idea grew, just like

the small plant. With encouragement and support, the idea outgrows " the box " ,

just like a plant, with water and good nutrition outgrows its initial

planting area. Some types of plants grow faster than others. Some stay in the

same spot where first planted. Regardless, there is growth. The same is true

of ideas. At some point, the idea becomes more that an idea.

Just thoughts...
