Guest guest
Hi and welcome to the group. Are you taking an RA meds. Pain meds will help with the pain, but there are RA drugs that seek to control the pain, stiffness, fatigue and overall progression of the disease (to prevent joint destruction and disability). Usually the first drugs tried are Plaquinil or Methotrexate (mtx), or a combination. If those fail, there are biological drugs that can be used in combination with mtx that are very good. There are other options as well. Jennie > > > I was just recently diagnosed with RA and Scoliosis. The RA is > mainly in my upper back, shoulders and neck. Guest guest
Welcome to our group. Sorry for the reason you¹re here, but glad you found us. Is your back, neck and shoulder pain coming from the scoliosis? I hope you are seeing a rheumatologist. They will do regular blood tests to monitor your kidneys and liver. Is your doctor going to start you on meds for the RA? The Daypro is just an anti-inflammatory that is helping with the inflammation and pain, but not treating the disease. Hope to get to know you better. a > > > I was just recently diagnosed with RA and Scoliosis. The RA is > mainly in my upper back, shoulders and neck. I am currently taking > Day Pro for the pain. Guest guest
Hi Everybody, My name is and I am new to this site. I have sent lots of info to my neuro about LDN. I am so ready to not stick myself anymore and not have to do the chemo. What I don't know is how many of the other meds I might be able to not take if I am able to get the Doc to write a script for LDN. Right now I take Neurontin, Baclofen, Provigil, Lexapro, Ditropan and (vicodin prn for back pain). I would love to not have my dresser look like a pharmacy. Also, my neuro is considered a specialist in MS and does a speaking circuit for the MS Society. How likely is he to consider this treatment...I know that that speaking gig is often funded by the pharm. companies. Thanks for your help,
Guest guest
Hi Allyson, Welcome! I have no experience with older children (my son is 5), but my first thought was regarding your son's hormones. Are they in balance? Kristy Hi, I'm new! My name is Allyson, and my step son has Asperger's Syndrome. He's 17, in Grade 11 at school, and currently struggling (he was doing *really* well until this year). For the past five years, he's seemed to be improving, vastly, and we've been so proud of him. He has kept his grades up, participated (voluntarily!) in creating an after-school social group, and made some friends (very difficult for him). He is also fairly popular at school as a work partner and aquaintance, although he doesn't have many close friends. Then, this year, it seems like he's suddenly begun to regress. His grades dropped, he's taken on behaviors from years ago, and some of the symptoms he had successfully reduced have become prominent again. Has anyone else experienced this? Are we moving backwards? Is he just going through a phase? Hi all... While #1Son isn't my bio son, he's very much a loveable kid, and I love him as my own flesh and blood. I hope this is an okay introduction! Please feel free to ask questions - I respond better to being grilled, than to writing a cold intro. He's a normal, 17 year old boy in that he likes to look at pretty girls, and all the (ahem) equipment works fine, or so I've been told. He has facial hair and all that jazz, and he sure smells like a 17 yr old boy. However, all those are just indicators. Perhaps I ought to suggest his dad have that checked. Thanks!
