of my clients, mother of an autistic child, is in my study and has been on LDN

4.5mg for 5 weeks, and just found out she is pregnant. She wants to know if she

should stop the LDN. On her pretesting she showed some significant disordered

immune parameters (not unusual for moms of autistic kids) though has not shown

any overt autoimmune disorder or unusual immune impairment. My intuition is

that the LDN would actually help give her fetus some immune support, though I

thought I would suggest she go to the lower dose of 3mg if she continues. If

anyone has heard Dr. Bihari speak to the subject of LDN during pregnancy or has

access to asking him, I would very much appreciate it. I am awaiting a call

from Dr. Vojdani who helped me design my research study, but I doubt if he would

really know the answer to this question, as he is not a physician but a

brilliant laboratory immune specialist. Thanks for any

Dr. Bihari has always suggested not using LDN during pregnancy. You can speak to

Bill at Dr. Bihari's office on Monday to see if Dr. Bihari's thinking on this

topic has changed in the past few years.

It seems that Dr. Bihari changes his mind alot on this issue... I asked

him last year about whether it's ok to use LDN during pregnancy because

my hubby and I hope to start a family soon. He's says it's fine to use

it. I probably will. I also know of other ladies who have taken LDN

for a few months into the pregnancy with no problems. I would like to

know someone who has taken LDN all the way through their pregnancy

though.

Hi Jaquelyn .. Dr Bihari has many patients with HIV or AIDS who

stayed on LDN during their pregnancy .. he personally I believe

thinks it is safe. I don't think anyone ever had a problem. However

as a responsible doctor he tells people to go off it when pregnant

as there are no trials UNLESS the condition they are dealing with is

very serious and not worth risking stoppping LDN over .. I will be

speaking with Dr Bihari on weds 15th .. so I will ask him directly

to see what his current opinion is. I will pose your question

directly and get back.
