Guest guest
Hi guys...I've noticed quite a few posts regarding mood swings and whether they might be related to your LDN use. While no one really knows how one may react to any drug, it does seem kind of strange to me that you could be doing so well for a time and then all of a sudden have this reaction. One stated that she had upped her dose. Again, no one really knows but you how you will react to any given drug and experimentation is certainly key with this therapy. What comes to mind for me though is that perhaps this is just a normal reaction to one getting older and perhaps going into that face of a woman's life? Just a thought of course. Guest guest
Hi Joyce, Longtime no hear! I hope you have been well? Regarding the hormone thing, that theory kinda went out the window when I stopped the ldn two days ago. The mood swings stopped. As they did with 2 males I know and 5 females. I am currently looking for ex ldn'er's in the ms circles to see what they tried before stopping. I would hate to brush this aside and give up. There has to be something those of us who experiance this can do. It would be different if the ldn didn't work. Quite the contary. While I may not be able to tell with the ms for years to come, I can with my hidradenitis. Which is now flaring. Guest guest
Dr. Bihari quoted in one of his papers that you must use at least 1.75mg of LDN in order for it to be effective. Why don't you try that dose and see if your moods remain stable and perhaps halting the progression at the same time. Your body must be telling you it is receiving to high of a dose to orchestrate your system. Just another avenue to pursue so you don't necessarily have to give up the protocol. Guest guest
Suicidal ideation and depression can be symptoms of low Magnesium and/or an imbalance between Calcium and Magnesium. http://www.coldcure.com/html/dep.html www.mgwater.com www.exatest.com www.naturalcalm.net Hope this helps mjh In a message dated 3/20/06 9:57:06 A.M. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I may just try that! I sure don't want my hs (hidradenitis supurativa) to get worse. Of course the ms also but its more apparent to me, what its doing for the hs in the short term. I think I had 4.5mg stuck in my head as the optimal amount. I should know better as I have always been sensitive to meds. Even the dreaded avonex caused depression and suicidal ideation. No fun! Thanks and take care! > Dr. Bihari quoted in one of his papers that you must use at least 1.75mg of > LDN in order for it to be effective. Guest guest
Thanks mj! I know for a fact it was due to the avonex. Biogen sent a revised caution to the fda to include a warning on prescriptions of avonex. It stated that interferons had a risk of worsening existing depression symptoms with a risk of suicidal ideation. Much like the guessing game I am having with ldn, biogen tried to blame everything else but the avonex. I thought I was going crazy until biogen stated that and I went off the avonex and felt better. If anyone here is taking avonex, betaseron, rebif or any hep c interferons, be careful of depression. Thanks for thinking of me tho!
