Guest guest
Hi gals, my body could also never tolerate P, even the smallest amounts into vagina would give me itching, hives, acne, apparently it always went " the wrong way " , i.e. ending up as DHT. I was only taking it to keep the uterine lining from further poliferating, although mine was " only " 10mm, and I read in studies that many menopausal healthy women have between 8 up to 14 mm thickness. So I decided to experiment with Saw Palmetto (which keeps the testosterone from going the " andro.. " way. After about 1 week of taking 180-360mgs=1-2 gels/day, all itching and acne went away. It seems that when you give - my - body testosterone from the SP, the body will use it " the right way " . I also have given up the E2 drops (about which I had a suspicion of over-sensitivity as well for quite a while), and am taking 500-1000mg =1-2 Maca caps/day instead. It seems to help me out, but my body changing about every few months with what it seems to need, don't know how long that will work... Just sharing. Good luck you ladies! Charlotte both of these herbals usually in the morning to jumps start me. Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, The P for me also goes down the wrong route (acne hair loss, bone pain) and I recently took a little of my husbands Test cream (pretty low dose) and did not get the symptoms I get with P. I just thought that maybe T will go down the right road but P for me does not. The only reason I tried it was because on my last blood test Total T was 24 which is on the low side for me. Guest guest
Hello Karin, what I only recently learned about the hormone thing for men and women is this: The basic hormone stuff that every body - man and woman - makes is Testosterone, period. Men ideally use that " basic " Testosterone like it is, and make only very little Estrogen from some of it as needed for balance. With today's life styles, many - especially andropausal " men lack some testosterone to make up for the overbalance of estrogen (-like effects) from gmo-foods, air, esp. car- and other plastics. So it's good for them to supplement with some extra T formulated for their male needs. Women ideally make mostly Estrogen and in balance Progesterone o u t o f t h e i r o w n basic T e s t o s t e r o n e, the rest of your (low, free?) Testosterone is available as your reserve hormonal needs. When the female hormone system is out of balance and the body does not make enough Estrogen/ Progesterone, either a) because there isn't enough Testosterone available to start with, or stress on another level. Or c) the reason may be dietary or food absorbency problems= metabolic. Result: the thyroid and/or adrenals/ovaries don't have enough of what they n e e d , to make enough basic or/and other hormones 'along the way' (digestive, 'autoimmune', insulin resistant or -sensitive etc). (In my case it is/was iodine for the thyroid, helping the exhausted adrenals too. In addition I take Armour and Cortef when under stress. I've been hypo and ignorant about that all my life, as well as my doctors, since it wasn't " obvious " on paper (tests). In order for iodine to be properly absorbed, there has to be enough iron and magnesium as well as manganese in the diet or through supplements. For iron, I cook a bunch of beets at least every other week and eat a cupfull of them every day following.... ) There are many natural sources for Testosterone, but you need to get one that doesn't go " andro.. " , and I only know of Saw Palmetto to be 'safe' that way. It's also in most " male " T-supplements to cut out DHT production against balding etc. Look if it's one of the main ingredients in your husband's cream, so you could consider it. His cream may also be too " strong " for your female needs so try minimal. But I have seen a Testosterone cream on the i-net formulated especially for women, I guess it was put in connection to " anti-aging " . Google it, I forgot the website. I hope this can help you get clear about some of the issues.
