Guest guest
I was on Zoloft for 6 years. At the time my dr put me on it, I was going through relationship hell. I don't think I'd been depressed before that time. Anyway, within a year of starting Zoloft I'd packed on 50 pounds. I honestly never thought it had anything to do with the medication. I wasn't exercising as much, but my eating habits hadn't changed. After reading so many messages about others weight gain, maybe that's what contributed to it for me. So about two months ago I decided to take myself off Zoloft (honestly, right now I don't know why because of the withdrawal effects.) I cut my dose in half for a week, then went to every other day, etc., until this is my first week without anything. I've lost 8 pounds without trying...imagine if I tried..ha! I'm more emotional now. I can cry when I'm upset, couldn't do that on Zoloft. The only complaint I have is this head thing. My gosh.....it's different from a headache. More like tension, fluttery, it's weird. Mainly on the right side (front and back), and inner ear. So my question is, how long does this take? I know that everyone is different, but can anyone give me an idea? Should I just forget it and go back to the dr and try something else....I really don't want to do that! Would LOVE to be drug free!

It could be 2 months, it could be 20 years. Would this be a reason to take another drug? Regards,
