Guest guest
I'd like to give everyone some motivation to actually get in touch with governmental agencies and fill out all that mass of paperwork to see if you can qualify for financial assistance with medical bills, etc... cannot qualify for SSI or Medicaid because my husband's income is too much. We have been concerned about this because has reached her million dollar cap of insurance. We have not been too successful at finding new insurance that we could afford. Although there is a special Blue Cross Insurance for hard to insure kids. It was only going to cost something like $100 a month to insure her but you have to have a denial letter from Medicaid and 3 other denial letters from other companies. Anyway, I got a call the other day from someone who said, " you're name has come up on our waiting list. Are you still interested? " I said, " Sure, who are you? " We had filled out paper work when was born and was put on a waiting list for lots of things that I can't remember. This particular one was MDCP (Medically Dependant Children's Program) Our name has just gotten to the top of the list (3 years later). This is one of the waiver programs people have been talking about. It is based on medical necessity and on 's income not ours (her parent's). It provides money for adaptations to your house or car and respite nursing hours. But the best part is that once you qualify for MDCP you automatically qualify for Medicaid!! This program is good until turns 18 and will always be based on her income. We were very excited about the timing of all of this. The moral of the story is: call the programs, see if there is a waiting list, go ahead and fill out the paperwork. If you wait until you 'need' it, it may be too late. By the way, medicaid pays for formula once the child turns 3 and diapers once the child turns 4. mom to (9), Caleb (6), and (3, CHARGE) Mesquite, TX ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Guest guest
Korey, I have Medicaid paying for Tryny's diapers and all you need to do is to get your pediatrician to send in a P.A. to Medicaid requesting them.. You can't get them until the child is 4 years old though. Medicaid also covers pediasure, polycose, all Tryny's feeding supplies and respitory supplies ( along with Children with Special Health Care Needs Insurance).
