Hi All,

My daughter has recently been given this diagnosis. Does anyone else

treat their child for ADHD? Do you know of a good website or book to

cook the GFCF diet? Is it safe and effective for the whole family to

change over. I can't afford two make multiple meals...I'm sure some

of you can relate. Also, what supplements do you give your child?

Thanks

P.S. is talking even more today.

Great! Thanks. Would you keep me posted on what works for you? Is your daughter on GSE, Probiotic, or Enzyme?

Our first diet change was Feingold, then GFCFSF, and then SCD.

I just wanted to say that organic is not specified on Feingold. As

with most diets, organic is always better, but it is not required to

meet the purposes of Feingold.

The first stage of Feingold is removing artificial colors and

flavors, aspartame, TBHQ, BHT, BHA, and salicylates. During the

second stage you trial salicylates back in. You are provided a

shopping guide for products in which the companies have disclosed

their ingredients. The nice thing is that they also tell you about

other ingredients like MSG, HFCS, etc. These additives are not

required to be removed, but because so many children/people react to

them, they let you know when they are in a product. It is very

helpful.

It is true that many of the acceptable brands end up being organic

because they are the companies that tend to not use the artificials,

but there are lots of brands that are not organic.

I hope that helps.

Blessings,

> My son is also ADHD and PDD-NOS. I have heard good things about

the Feingold diet, which you can google for more info. It basically

eliminates food dyes, perservatives and wants you to buy organic.

Lots of kids have had good results with this. Also we are looking

into the Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been posted on this

yahoo group by Rei.
