We have this come up fairly frequently. Someone wants the Police to go

with to a location for one reason or another.

We usually have them wait in the lobby. Partly because we can't

predict the arrival time of an Officer. Officers have tripped over

injury accidents and other things that delay them. It also keeps

all the parties involved apart until the referees arrive. Is

there a Department Policy for these calls?

In my humble opinion, if he had gone to the address when he was dispatched,

the domestic may have been avoided. Please enlighten

me, my fellow dispatchers.

Yep, no doubt in my mind. I do wonder where he was for those 20+

minutes. I am sure it is the same there are here, if there is no

written policy the boss, Sgt, Cmdr, or whatever rank, makes the

rules and decisions. Your predicament has reminded me we need to

look into having a policy written for this as well
