Guest guest
Hi, I am really interested in Valtrex and what it does. I had an appointment with my DAN back in September and he recommended putting my son on a lead chelator (cuprimine) and also valtrex. He also put my son back on back diflucan. I did the diflucan for a little while and poops improved. I stopped using the diflucan, but the poops stayed firm. Normally, this doesn't happen. Within a couple of a few weeks, the poop quality goes back down. So, does Valtrex have anti-yeast qualities? Second, my son started potty-training without much effort at all on my part. One day, I just asked him to go, and he went 5 times within the same day. This never happened before. We ran out of the chelator and I also went through the entire bottle of valtrex. My son has been off the chelator for about 3 weeks now and off of the valtrex for about 2 weeks. Since then, poops have gotten worse and potty-training has gone downhill. So, my question is, what is Valtrex capable of doing for kids with ASD and also, how long do they normally have to stay on it? I have also heard things about high doses of valtrex. My son started off on 250 mg for the first 5 days, then 500 mg for 5 days, then 750 mg for the last 5 days. I don't know how high we could safely go up. Also, does Valtrex harm the liver if my son is on it for a long time? I have a phone consult with my DAN tomorrow morning, so am looking for some extra info first. Thanks.
