Guest guest
Yes, he is having trouble breathing. He can't carry on a conversation anymore without becoming completely out of breath. He enjoys a cigar every now and again and I had noticed that he rarely smokes a cigar anymore. I asked him about it and he told me it was because he can't inhale deeply enough to keep it lit. That's when I really got concerned about him. ________________________________ From: abijann <no_reply > To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 7:39:27 PM Subject: Diane....For All:Beware of disability plan through company I don't know about all ambulance organization. I was with a volunteer ambulance service. They have a special ambulance they use to just transport patients. However, there are restrictions on who can be transported. It is for those who are unable to be transported by any other means. For instant, those who are wheelchair bound or who would have great discomfort being transported in an upright position. They use this to take them to and from their doctor appointments and to the hospital for procedures. I would call the ambulance you plan to use ahead of time and ask them or stop by their ambulance building and ask to speak with someone there. Don't use the 911 number, as this isn't an emergency. They can fill you in on how they handle this and if your insurance has to pay the cost. It is always good to have a membership card with them. Let me explain how a membership card usually is handled. I have both the BLS (Basic Life Support) and the ALS (Advanced Life Support) membership service. If you have a membership card, the ambulance provider will bill your insurance first. What the membership card does, is to keep you from having to pay anything that your insurance will not pay. In other words...if your insurance decides there is only a percentage they will pay the ambulance organization, then with the membership card you have...the ambulance will just write off the rest. Hope this help you. I sure hope that he isn't having trouble breathing. This fluid, in some people, can press up against the diaphragm and if it becomes too much, can start to seep pass that and go into the lungs and then this is not a very good thing. I think he would be so surprise how much better he will feel if this was over now.
