In South Carolina!! Again I know we are talking about two different things but I know that had trouble because of the longness of his head, it made things hard for him. Of course I also no NOTHING about muscles in the neck so it is just an opinion. P.

:

Thanks for the opinion. I see the Dr for 6th month visit on Friday, and wanted to know if I should bring it up as a developmental question or head related question (if it's head related, I'm going to try to get her involved in the insurance stuff....not that I know if she will or not...)

I am in Cincinnati. *smile* Where are you?

H.

Well as a mother of sagittal I would say it is from the shape of his head and the weight that is transfered differently for him. I would truly say head shape and not developmental!!

This still blows my mind !!!! Where are you from? P.

His plagiocephally is more describeas "sagittal plagiocephaly" for he has a long and narrow head shape, and hisneck juts out past his neck. One of the things that I've noticed that I do not know about is the way heholds his head when he stands (assisted, of course) or sits (assisted, ofcourse)....If you are at all familiar with the pictures in the files section, when helays down on his back his head is longer in the back and tends to "push" inhis chin towards his chest. What I've noticed is that his neck tends to do this in sitting and standingpositions, too, though he CAN look up and straight out, he does not unlessprompted (toy, snap, calling his name, etc.)BUT, is this developmental, am I just expecting too much from a 5 month old?He rolls over both ways, extends fully on his arms when on his tummy.Could his neck muscles just be used to being in that position? Or are theyjust not strong enough yet??Sorry to ask so many questions.... any comments would really be appreciated! Thanks!
