We have the same sort of grief down here also. And, it's not limited to just equipement or software. Administrative and operational policies also give us heartburn and are usually unworkable. Unbeknown to the naive managers, it is the dispatchers on the floor that make it work. None of our managers know how to be a dispatcher, and thus do not understand what we have to do to make it work. As far as they're concerned, everything is fine and working as they planned. But, in many cases we are our own worst enemy by making it work. We refuse to work to their rule and allow the operation to grind to a halt. And, working around these unworkable situations just adds to our stress levels. But to do otherwise would certainly be a lesson in frustration. Chuck Sydney, Australia
