Well, the best " unoffical " CHP site belongs to a great friend of mine, and is at http://www.geocities.com/~chp/ He has a page there dedicated to the officers we've lost: http://www.geocities.com/~chp/memorial.html And the California Peace Officers Memorial site is at http://www.camemorial.org/ ===== Happy to be here, proud to serve. They aren't gathered in one place, however, if you scroll to the bottom of the default page, there's a search engine. Just type in " memorial " and you'll tun up several results from my site that have memorials to officers (and one firefighter). You can take a look by starting at: http://sites.netscape.net/mcjackie -jackie Jackie McElroy y Creek Fire Dept. Any sugguestions will be helpful. > Anne, start with the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial site: http://www.nleomf.org A slide presentation of fallen officers is on their site at http://www.nleomf.org/home.html shows photos from the 1800s to the present. A 'must see' memorial site is " My Dad.' I found it some years ago. Go to: http://www.angelfire.com/la/sandys/ Sandy didn't update her page this year. Hope she's OK. The 'Officer Down Memorial Page' is, to my knowledge, the most complete and most frequently updated source of information and links to other memorial pages at: http://www.odmp.org/ When I decide to lighten my billfold, my donation goes to the 'Concerns of Police Survivors.' They dedicate themselves to helping the families left behind. I've seen their care during Police Week. http://www.nationalcops.org/ Is your department as prepared as possible for a line- of duty death? Few are but you can find materials to help at: http://www.nationalcops.org/serv09.htm In my sites, I don't list very many links. Others do it better. One 'link-to-memorial-links' page that lists well over 100 memorial sites is: http://www.officer.com/memorial.htm Another is at: http://www.policeguide.com/memorial.htm I think that, between those two, you'll find all but the newest law enforcement memorial pages. Another good Memorial Page is at: http://www.taps.net/ They also have a 'Last Alarm' page honoring fire and EMS at: http://www.taps.net/last/index.htm Don't visit too many of these in one day or the resulting depression may last for days and require medication. Calls occur randomly... all at the same time.
